We walked past this restaurant on our first evening in Syracuse, whilst exploring Ortigia. I loved the shade sails and pretty lights, and the slightly quieter side road also appealed. We had the most delicious and fresh food here. My husband was astounded at the...size of the tuna tartare served as a starter but as I'd 'only' ordered bruschetta I was able to share his and it was the freshest dish I've ever tasted. The next day I saw a fish shop where tuna was being prepared so clearly it's one of the many local fish caught hereabouts. I had opted for tuna steak for my dinner, and it was barely seared before being served, which is exactly as it should be, and was accompanied by a lovely peppery sauce and an onion pickle type dressing which set it off beautifully. Our desserts were also good, I had a lemon sorbet while my husband opted for a pistachio semi freddo which was very creamy. Wines were incredibly good prices. Our Feudo Arancio nero d'avola red wine was only 18 euros, which for a restaurant price I thought very good value as it was delicious I look forward to another visit during our stay. We arrived early to get a table for two, although they set out a couple more on the other side later on as it's a popular place. (It had been raining earlier in the day, this restaurant is fairly near the Arethusa spring and the mozzies were out and feasted on me while I ate my feast so just be aware. It's no reflection on the restaurant, just a cautionary aside.)More
