We had lunch here on our way to see the catacombs. Just get it and let Michele and Iolanda welcome you a old friends. The food is typical and amazingly good (the caponata was actually better than the one my grandmother makes!), the prices are low and the whole experience is really worth getting a bit away from the city... We found this tiny place by chance, walking from Capella Palatina to Catacombe dei Cappucini. Michele is very friendly, we took the set menu, which was delicius, but among all, the caponata was simply fantastic, the best we have tried in Sicily during our two weeks.

Michele was very lively and funny. The food with ingredient from the family farm was very tasty ,especially the ricotta and the different cheeses. the arancini were light and tasty. we had very good pasta al sardine and excellent caponata.

Michele was super warm, we had the best cannoli ever and then he invited us to try his arancini (without charging them) just because we asked him where could we find the best. Italian gestures at its maximum expression, simple and familiar trattoria. Grazie Michele!!

We walked out of the Palazzo Reale starving for a good lunch. Something about museums makes you hungry. We stumbled on Michele and Jolanda's restaurant, Trattoria Familiare. It looked welcoming so we thought we'd give it a try. It was amazing. Home cooked traditional Sicilian fare. We had the three course fixed price meal. What a treat. If you're in... More

Terrible food - really terrible. The pasta is undercooked and the sauce tastes like washing-up liquid. We fled before eating the dessert. Check the good reviews: many are from reviewers with no other reviews.

We walked past randomly and sat down for a quick lunch on our walk through Palermo. The owner is a great person that immediately made us feel welcome, and even though he only spoke Italian we understood everything he was telling us (gesturing a lot) =). You don't HAVE to eat the whole menu and it's also cheaper if you... More

Maybe Michele is a kind and outgoing person but the food... OMG... is just awful and that is a mediocre judgment. And 45€??? Really?
