Fantastic local wine from Sicily and the most amazing Gorgonzola, pear and fig gnocchi that I have ever had. The restaurant is located on a small side street, close to the centre of town, and had a wonderful ambiance. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome! Would definitely go here again!

Spurred on by Lonely Planet's rave about this restaurant's on-tap lagers and excellent Sicilian dishes I came to this place with great optimism. I found some items that sounded great on the menu but when I came to order the waiter told me none of them were available - in fact there were only two secondi available, one being hamburger... We had a really tasty meal here. Huge portions! Situated in a small square it was a lovely setting, very chilled out. Cocktails were good too.

Pizzas are about 12" across, so a good value for your money. However, they don't cut them, so be prepared to make a mess of your food. Also, don't order the one with anchovies, olives and breadcrumbs, it was just not good.

When in Catania I always make a point of heading to Al Cortile Alessi for my evening meal, especially on my arrival, since it is next to my hotel and I am always eager to meet up with the very friendly staff and partake of their typically Sicilian fare. The setting, whether inside the restaurant, or in the courtyard, is... More

Whilst in Catania, went there twice and will do whenever am there. Very nice and courteous staff - always gentle and very helpful indeed! Had an off-menu Pizza with Pistacchio Pesto and Mortadella with Philadelphia Cheezy Crust - Trust me was out of this world! Pizza is the best in Catania! Place and ambience is very nice - we stayed... More

Located on the steps off the happening Via Crociferi, this is a good restaurant. We paid €55 for 4 pints of beer, 3 wine and food. The calamari was tasty at €10. Located right across from the very popular Nievski. There is a beer garden in back or you can eat in area out in street as well. Friendly service.

This restaurant looks lovely with a candlelit garden. It was quiet when we arrived but quickly filled up with most people eating pizza which did not look good to our taste, far too thick a base. Service was poor, we were asked twice whether we wanted red or white wine and still the wrong one was brought and we were... More

Lovely courtyard restaurant/pizzeria at the top of the steps past Il Principe hotel. The fish soup, more like a stew, in a rich tomato sauce was stunning. The pizza was disappointing even though the place is renowned for it. Service was excellent up to the point when it came to pay - apparently the EFTPOS machine wasn't working and one... More

We were just walking down the beautiful streets of Catania when we accidentally found out this sweetest restaurant and made a reservation for the night. The staff was very friendly and could easily talk English which is really hard to find in this city. I enjoyed a delicious pizza which I almost could not finish. The wine was great as... More
