We needed a special place for a special birthday, and Luigi Pomata filled the job description perfectly. I'd have dished it a four-and-a-half, maybe even a five, but the service is not quite as accomplished and synchronised as you'd expect from a place that is pricey, but also value for money. On the grounds that you get what you pay... More

Food excellent - I had sublime octopus and fish, the chef is top-level no doubt. However.....this place feels quite cold, not temperature-wise but service-wise, and the prices are high for what you get. In fact, service was not only cold but fundamentally inefficient and inattentive. We noticed the place was full of tourists and no locals, this just about sums... More

We thought we were going to a Italian Restaurant for a nice Pasta / Spaghetti Dish which is what you get but everything is fish related. I am allergic to fish unfortunately and explained to the friendly staff who said no problem you can go and eat elsewhere or I could ask the Chef to do a plain Spaghetti Bolognese... More

I read so many nice things about Luigi Pomata in tripadvisor and also in the travel books etc. Maybe my expectations were really high. The place is nice, but maybe you should prefer sitting inside because people are walking between tables while you eat, as it is located on the sidewalk. I ordered tartar and seafood carbonara, I don't remember... More

This restaurant is great for lunch. They offer a business lunch special with the choice of two or three selections. The tuna was great. The portions may seem to be on the small side but they do fill you up. I saw one review complaining about eating on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. If that's not your thing,... More

Visited here twice on our recent holiday in Cagliari on 19th October and 24th October. On both occasions my wife and I had an exceptional meals. Great menu, we tried mainly the seafood, lobster starter, tuna mains, and the seafood pasta dish. The sweets too were excellent. Great service, with attentive staff. My wife uses a wheelchair and although the... More

First of all, eating in the padestarian way is not a good idea, and eating in a fine dining restaurant and eating in the padestarian way is worse. The amount of food they serve is hillariously small, not intersting in the sense of delicacy and very overpriced. I wouldn't suggest to anyone to eat there.

We spent Friday evening at this fantastic restaurant. The service, wines and food was amazing. On top of that to a prize half of what one is used to in a first class restaurant.

Delightful dinner. The restaurant specialises in sushi but it's not de rigeur - there is a full Italian menu, predominantly fish I think, as well. Very polished 'chefing' and all supported by delightful staff.

Bit pricey, but in context good value. Food is superb, services keen and attentive and the chef does the rounds which is always fun. Great tuna. Well worth it.
