On the recommendation of Rick Steves' book, we had lunch at this restaurant today. Although the location is convenient, and the self-service aspect made it easy, the food was cold and greasy. The potatoes had no flavor and the vegetables in the risotto must have come straight from the frozen food bag.

The price is reasonable. The location is good. On the second floor,it is quiet at 7 in the evening. We took dinner at the window side table at ease.

BREK DAYTIME Self-service Italian style i.e.you queue up and select your food. It’s simple but good food, friendly service, and cheap e.g. Lasagne, pasta, salad, 2 glasses white wine, 2 cakes, 2 coffees, water €30. We’ve been to several Breks in different parts of Italy: certainly, wherever we go, we look to see if there’s Brek. BREK EVENING In the... More

Great spot for a meal, on the busy Piazza, staff were friendly but they didn't give their full attention, I had pizza, which had an undercooked base and was very doughy, reasonably priced but should be better.

We chose the outside seating and ate fruit salads which were delicious. The service was very friendly but the best bit was being able to sit and watch the main square. Also very reasonable prices and decent quality food at a fair price considering it's location.

Stopped here for a light lunch of a Caesar Salad and a Melon and Parma Ham. It was good value and the food was prepared really quickly. The waiter was hilarious too and made us feel welcome.

Took a while to arrive and when it did we wasn't too impressed. Pizza was ok however the base was very hard so it... More

The service was so slow that between the antipasti and the primo piatto we have waited 1 hour. The food was very basic no real taste. The only good point is the location, next to the Arena.

Based on Rick Steves' guide, we had a quick lunch at Brek Cafeteria. It was fun watching the crowds ebb and flow on Piazza Bra. But, the service was sloppy, the food was poor quality, and the house wine was "thin." I wouldn't go back.

Food was OK, service absolutely polite and kind. Finally a waiter with good English in Italy. :) The kids loved it mainly because of the complimentary ice cream.
