Read the title - very very overpriced. This place will charge you 110 for fish baked in salt. Service is ok.

The service was abrupt and servers uninterested in their food or wine or us. They substituted an inferior bottle of wine without a word only saying "Oh, sorry, we were out of your selection." when caught, then charging the same price as the original though Google shows it is half the price of what we ordered. My companion was assured... More

We had wonderful ravioli and risotto, everyone very attentive all night, finished with best Venetian cappuccino and Tiramisu! Would highly recommend for a typical Italian evening out

Our lunch of two Bellinis, a bottle of rosé, a split Caesar salad and two pastas was $156 euro...more than all of our dinners so far but we did enjoy the food and the service, so it is what it is....

Had a couple of cocktails then started with fresh seafood soups, plenty of various shells and shrimps, quite tasty. For the main course had risotto with truffles and lasagna, both was awesome. Good selection of wine. Service was great, even the restaurant owner made a personal greeting. But for sure it's overpriced.

Incredibly expensive, two 'on the house Aperole cocktails ', cost us €30, when we decided that €45 for a bog standard starter, was out of our price range, and we decided to leave. So can't comment on the food, but atmosphere was not good, we were the only ones there, except for an Italian group.

Very possibly the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in. The only saving grace was that unlike many of the other diners who have commented here on the absurdly expensive prices I was not paying for my meal as I was part of a large group. To say the food was inedible would be doing a disservice to the idea... More

We were very hungry and it was very late. We had been wandering for a bit. Off season, many places closed. We came upon this establishment and the staff could not have been more welcoming, helpful and pleasant. We were the only people in the restaurant and not once did we feel rushed. Excellent food, very good wine selection. Gave... More

We had dinner at the Al Colombo the night before we left. The food was very good and the service was good but not as good as it could have been. The place is located near the Grand Canal and is a good choice. Don't forget to make reservations.

We were attracted to the restaurant by the courtyard full of happy people. We were told it was a private party and so couldn't sit outside and got ushered into the restaurant. We should have left but had a tired and hungry 6 year old with us. €122 later two of us had had a pasta dish and a half... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
