OK this will be my second, (and therefore last), review of L’Osteria di Santa Marina so I better get it right. Let me begin by highlighting something I noticed on our first visit – the somewhat Jekyll & Hyde level of service. Having checked that...More

Visited whilst on our 4 night stay. Beautiful food - would highly recommend the sea bass & ravioli. Did feel that the staff could have been a little more friendly & relaxed although one of our waiters was great.

Went with a couple of friends after someone I know, who has a flat in Venice, recommended me this place. Overall a good experience, with some of the dishes from the culinary Venetian tradition and other from other Italian regions. Had a super fresh selection...More

Had a great meal here during our trip to Venice. TBH fairly basic looking restaurant from the outside and inside is comfortable. The food was cooked beautifully with great flavours and complimented by a good wine selection. The service was good, what you would expect...More

A stark and apparently basically furnished restaurant with food of the very highest quality by Venice standards. The waiters were immensely knowledgeable and the food as good as one can hope for in Venice; full of local flavour, imagination, skill and art.

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri

one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime
neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side
streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals
criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a

I am very keen to eat here as it looks great. However, I can only get a table at 9.30 and it looks like the place closes (or is it last orders?) at 10pm. Is it worth doing or will I be hurried and it may be better to go on another day?

I think that would be fine... It's more about attitude. This is an upscale place but still friendly. In general, Italians appreciate an effort on courtesy. The server/ servered relationship is a two way street. Act like a... More

My pasta starter was 18 Euros, and my wife's anti pasta was 10. Both our main courses (fritto misto, and fish and chips) were 27 Euros.
