Lost for words on how to describe this heavenly experience. If you're visiting Venice, and if you prefer to eat food from selected 'Veneto' sources, then do not miss the chance to dine here. The 7 course meal was divine. The service graciously top notch. Hats off to the amazing chef and his amazing staff. Bravo!

After we saw this place on Andrew Zimmern, we had to go. We did and then again on another trip 3 years later. They were very accommodating to make reservations for us as early as we wanted because we were so excited to return there on our second trip. The gnocchi is not to be missed as is anything with... My favorite restaurant in Venice, because of the food and the people. It is run by husband and wife, also assited by their son. We had both lunch (fixed, good price) and dinner there, the last one with some friends. For dinner we had sefood starters and as main cource lamb (mainly since we then could drink red wine :-).... My wife and I had dinner here our first night in Venice and were very pleased. The prices are on the higher side of what we found during the course of our stay, but the food and especially the service were all top-notch. The seafood soup first course was incredibly delicious and the turbot was very good. Wait staff were... More

It's true that we came earlier than our table was booked. The weather was not so good for stroll so we had to hide inside. The owner hardly said hello-very unwelcoming gentleman. We asked to have our table earlier and of course the answer was NO ( in a rude way by the owner) he kept us exactly two ours... More

It was a bit of a trek to get to this restaurant which came highly recommended but it was worth it. Exceptional service and attention to detail. This us fine dining which doesn't come cheap but a special experience. Wr arrived early (before opening time) but were welcomed in for drinks anyway. Excellent recommendations on the wine including some samples... More

Hard to fault really - unless you need/want a place that is cheap. This place is well run with tasty food. The tasting menu with four wines comes to 100€ a head. So not for someone on a budget but if you can afford it then doubt you will be disappointed. Traditionally decorated in two rooms and efficient service that... More

My wife and I were celebratng her big 60 and we wanted to try this hidden gem of a restaurant. We had a wonderful lunch, with a great selection of local seafood and a great reasonable wine list. The service and ambiance could not be better. Cannot wait to return for her 61st next December.

Had a meal here on our last night in Venice. Fresh and simple but executed very well. Staff and our host were very friendly. Also a free glass of organic prosecco on arrival with some raw vegetables to nibble on. It costs 39 euros pp which was very good value. I would recommend eating here

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
