An Italian chef friend of mine recommended this place as "the must visit." He was absolutely right. Everything about this place is perfection. If you want true Venetian food away from the touristy restaurants around Piazza San Marco, make a reservation. From the staff to...More

We had a hard job finding a special restaurant for our anniversary which fell on a Sunday, the day that many Venetian restaurants are closed. We ate upstairs, which was quiet when we arrived but quickly filled up - mainly with Italians. Fish is their speciality...More

My wife and I arrived in Venice after a long day of travel from Austria. We checked into our hotel and shortly thereafter realized that meal reservations for that night had never been made. Understanding that one of the most fun parts of visiting this...More

This former wine bar has been a restaurant offering Venetian fare since 1956. Despite its name ( the tavern actually used to be a “ Tuscan wine shop”) the menu is strictly Venetian, the "tagliolini neri" being one of the outstanding pasta dishes. Others worth...More

Why would a restaurant that had a few tables still eating turn away first a party of 4 in front of us, and then a party of 2, us? If they close at 10:30....then stop seating then. If they close at 10, different story. All...More

I am writing this review in English to make it as beneficial as possible (please ask me more details if you wish). My experience with the Fiaschetteria Toscana is mixed due to my recent visit. Indeed, I have been there about 2 years ago and...More

Excellent restaurant - very good service with obviously some local/recurrent customers. It was an excellent meal - good T-bone (but much more expensive than a similar cut in Florence!) and very good sea bass (branzino).

Visited Venice on a post-retirement 3 week trip to Italy in 1998 (ignore the when did you visit field had to fill it out and didn't get a 1998 choice). We often found restaurants during our exploration of the cities, made reservations and came back...More

This is a small and elegant restaurant in Venice that has been in operation for decades. In spite of the questionable name, it is an excellent place where I dine every year and had always outstanding meals and service. The fact that is not ranked...More

Superb menu, my wife had the king prawns & I had the fillet steak. Both were supreme. We had been recommended by a Brit living just outside Venice , he was not wrong. Convenient to the Rialto Bridge.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
