Beautiful setting Poor service, especially as a large tourist party arrived after us and received their food before us!! Bug in salad, waiter informed us "it happens" Apologised profusely but no deduction from bill Just go for drinks and the view Plenty of much better eateries in Venice!

Hunger and a nice view got the better of us. Incredibly overpriced drinks, dry salmon and below average pizza. Service okay. I am coeliac, they weren't able to provide gluten free pasta or pizza, not a problem as I was happy with having fish or meat, but unfortunately the salmon was over cooked so very dry and had lots of... My fiancé and I enjoyed a lunch at this restaurant, which was slightly overpriced, but the location was great. We shared a diabola pizza, which was lovely. Very prompt service but all in one order. Upon receiving our bill, we were reminded that the bill did not include a service charge and tonne generous. But we noticed it did include... More

If you want to be scammed this is the place. Drinks are overpriced. Bottle of water 7 eur. Rude waiter. Asked him for ashtray and he gave me a full used one. When he brought the bill there was 3 eur coperto and he said service not included and he asked rudely for tip. Awful service.

This restaurant is facing Grand Canal & has a beautiful view. Food is good too. Soup & mushroom Spaghetti in white sauce were done pretty well. It seems to be a busy place. But the service was not up to the expectations & was very slow too.

We were having dinner while we were waiting for a ferry. Service was amazing, food and wine too. The view in this point is great!

Me and my partner came across this restaurant by coincidence and ended up having a fantastic evening. The service was very efficient and the waiter had a great sense of humour. We had quite a bit of banter with him and he certainly brightened up the evening. I liked the food and the wine he recommended was indeed a very... More

After being charmed into this restaurant we were seated at our table bought some covers (dry bread and bread sticks. We waited a long time for our dried out food and were hardly spoken to. Food was not good I cannot say anything nice about this overpriced restaurant., other than the charm was very good to entice you in. Covers... More

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
