Lots of choices. My favourite the dark chocolate. You can choose any of the other flavours too. they are made daily.

For us, this has to be one of the best gelato places in Venice ... particularly for their helpful service. This place makes its own home-made gelato and its "gluten free". We had been to a number of other gelato places in the area and because we were looking for "gluten free" gelato, they would not even give us the... More

This was our first taste of gelatto on our trip. All 5 flavors we tried were delicious and very reasonable! We kept trying gelatto other places and nothing else seemed to measure up. We happened upon it and then saw the Trip Advisor banner in the window and thought it was worth a try. It's a tiny place, but the... More

We have tried a few different gelato places while in Italy and my girls - who are expert now - say that this was the best. Prices good, reasonable serves and lots of flavours - which change daily. The ice cream was delicious.

Wonderful gelato (between us we had limone -tart, refreshing and sweet; stracciatella - delicious with generous chunks of chocolate shavings; and chocolate fondant - hugely rich dark chocolate). Best gelato in Venice!

If your in the San Marco area and want an ice cream this is the place to come. Much cheaper than the others around! It's name is not that obvious but it's opposite eddys bar.

After reading reviews here I knew how to find this place. Directions were good: walk through bell tower, when you get to the end of the street and have a choice to turn, turn right and after few metres you see that place on right side. Nice staff and very nice gelato. I think I paid 6 euros for 2... More

This wonderful find had us coming back 1-2 times daily for the best Gelato in all of Italy! We had been touring Italy for two weeks and our final stop was Venice. To find this gem, walk through the tunnel of the bell tower from St Marks Square. When you get to the end of that street and have to... More

This little gem of an establishment is half Gelateria and half off-licence. Just a stones throw from St Marks Square it sells top quality ice cream at half the price of shops on the square. All the ice cream is made on site (you can see the machines through the frosted glass) and is delicious. We had the dark and... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
