Nice bacaro place in front of a historic squero of Venice. You can eat in front of the room on the wall of the canal (paying attention to the fierce seagulls 😅) on the shelf placed in front of the window, or internally on stools and small table prepared. Spritz and wine at great prices. Cicchetti and meatballs in great variety, at acceptable prices.
I really enjoyed everything, especially the informal and warm atmosphere of the place.
I'll be back!

Away from the tourist crowds, opposite a small shipyard, is this small bar/osteria that specializes in the typical Venetian rolls (cichetti).
These rolls were really delicious, and there was a large selection (from stockfish to anchovies to tuna and pancetta and much more) at a fair price! You pay 2 euros per roll...
Good selection of wines and aperitifs, the coffee was delicious too. The waitress was quick and attentive, everything was great!

Came here for the 1st time in 2019 and noticed many people outside snacking and drinking. We went in and had a great experience meeting/talking with people in the indoor seating area. Good variation of snacks around 2 euros each and Aperol spritzers for 3.50 euros.
Came back in March and the vibe and food were great. Nice experience off the beaten path from tourist attractions. Cpme you will be glad you did. Blessings as you indulge in this simple Venetian culinary experience. Salute'!!

Cicchetti for 2 euros each, like in quite a few other places in Venice which offer just as many choices, if not more, and just as good. The cicchetti in this Osteria are not better than elsewhere. Nice location during the day as it is located along a canal. Deplorable service from the young girl who strongly expresses her annoyance and reproaches you loudly when you ask her to repeat the ingredients of the first cicchetti after having listed, like a robot and at lightning speed, all the other cicchetti ( around fifteen varieties). Too bad for you if you don't remember or translate as quickly in your head as it unfolds the scents. This young girl is clearly not cut out for the job.

A must-see place in Venice
The Osteria Allo Squero is a real nugget in Venice. If you like cicchetti (Venetian tapas), you will be delighted! These incredibly tasty little bites, full of freshness and creativity, are to fall on the ground. Each dish is a treat and the variety of cicchetti allows you to taste a bit of everything.
But that's not all! The originality of this place also lies in its exceptional view. While enjoying your cicchetti, you can observe the repairs of the gondolas, a typical Venetian scene that adds an authentic and unique touch to the experience.
It is a charming, quiet and typical setting, ideal for relaxing with delicious dishes. A must if you are in Venice!

Osteria Al Squero is no longer a secret kept by the Venetian. It's now overflown by tourists as well as locals and you can only consider yourself lucky if you are not staying in line too long (get there early!!). But totally worth the efforts and the food is just delicious, for a very reasonable price. The staff might get slightly upset if you have not made your choice while waiting (and a little Italian language smoothens it all!) We are definitely coming back!

We discovered the Osteria Al Squero some years ago and always return to it when we're in the city. Yes, it's crowded but that's because it's popular, fairly priced and GOOD! It needs patience to get to the counter to survey and identify the various cichetti to place an order but it's well WORTH it. Occasionally, a Reviewer mentions the staff being short with them. They're busy! Dealing with multi lingual tourists who don't know what they want or how to ask for it in the midst of the tiny area and trying to keep the food plates replenished would challenge the most patient person. I thought one of the staff had left off serving me at the bar because I was undecided and was 'tutting' at me until I realised the mild admonishment was for my wife who, in trying to tidy the table herself had accidently tipped a previous customer's debris including used cocktail sticks onto the floor - creating a slip hazard for everybody else. The lady patiently tidied it and came back to serving me ! The wine is tasty, the food is excellent and if you're fortunate enough to get a seat, then there's not much more to do but enjoy it - except go back to the counter for more.

I love this small, charming and unique Osteria on the canal rio di s Trovasa. The little cichetti and panini are delicious and varied, the regional wines tasty, and the location is so unique, historic, and treasured. Enjoy a lite bite overlooking the last gondola boat yard in Venice!

The best osteria I have been to in Venice, with amazing atmosphere and excellent service. The variety of cicchetti is better than anywhere else, and if sometimes you prefer to avoid bread like me, you will find amazing bites with anchovies without any gluten. The staff is so quick and really attentive at the same time! Kind of place you want to bring your best friends to spend good time with. Hopefully I will be there again.

I went at 2pm and although there were already several customers in and out we quickly found a seat. Serve immediately, choosing between Cicchetti, one more inviting than the other and well explained. We devoured them with gusto because the flavors were well matched to each other, particular, quality and fresh ingredients. High level. We loved the one with the sardines in saor😍We would have liked to return again and again but the holiday ended with a taste of Venice that we will never forget. Thanks guys, keep it up.

Very fresh and delicious cicchetti, especially the famous creamed cod. Absolutely average costs and super friendly staff. There is little space inside and you will probably have a long queue, but it's worth it

If you happen to be in the area, maybe pop by avoiding the particularly crowded hours behind lunch so you can sit at the small tables from which you can admire the Squero, a really very nice experience with a typically Venetian climate. The place is nice too. I have some reservations about food: cicchetti all in all good, hard cod balls, mozzarella with chewy anchovies

It is located in a very nice and youthful area. You can eat inside, making do with free seats (we found some on Wednesday evening) or by leaning on the canal wall outside, paying attention to the seagulls. The cicchetti are very good and the choice is wide. They cost 2 euros each so the offer is good. The atmosphere is informal. Recommended for tourists and locals, we will be back.

We visited here a couple of times and both times it was very busy with both tourists and locals alike. The place is small with a limited number of indoor seats but you’re also given the option to eat and drink outside overlooking the canals and gondola workshop opposite. The counter is full of delicious looking cicchetti and the coffee was the nicest we enjoyed all week. A great find off the beaten path.

We were looking for a place to snack after a visit to the Fence
At 3 p.m. more restaurant available
A short walk and along a canal in front of a gondola repair shop, this small bar
The best cichetti we tried during our stay in Venice, with a nice little glass of local white and especially a top atmosphere
Go cheerfully

Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
