I liked their service quality and the taste and the attitude. The place is somewhat small. And they want cash for small purcahses. But very good.

We discovered the Majer branch on the Fondamenta Pagan while walking back from the Piazzale Roma. We then discovered they have several branches in Venice, offering takeaway pizza, cake or you can usually eat in. The quality of the food and the excellent service from the staff was so reliable, we began to seek them out....so we ate in most... More

Dinner here on the first night in Venice and then a Spritz, pizza, coffee and cake for a late lunch on the Tuesday after a very long day sightseeing. Staff and food welcoming lovely coffee and great pizza and cakes. Worth paying a little more away from the bustle which is Venice. Sitting and watching the world go by from... More

This perfect little cafe has a restaurant space at the back which served us a gorgeous light, modern lunch with a glass of Prosecco. It is actually on the Giuidecca not dorsodoro and right by the water bus stop. I would highly recommend if you want to get away from the typical pizza and spaghetti carbonara restaurants in the centre... More

Great coffee and pizza in Venice, we didn't try the pastries, but 2 types of pizzas were delicious. Compared to the tourist traps you may find, Majer was also reasonably priced.

We grabbed a snack at a couple of different locations. The food is good, and they reliably take a credit card (min 10euros). If you need that and don't mind a less authentic meal, this is a good choice. Think of it as the Panera of Venice.

Location is very good, so is service and quality of food and drinks. I ordered portion of pizza (large selection by the way) for ~4,5 eur, coffee and orange juice. Everything was very good and value fo money is excellent. If I go to Venice again definitely will visit Majer once again!

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
