What a wonderful meal at a quaint restaurant. The ravioli with castlemaine cheese was insanely good. The staff was friendly and helpful. Delizioso!

Had a wonderful meal with excellent service. We eat fish dishes which were made with the freshest of fish, well cooked and presented. I really highly recommend this restaurant as it one of the best places that I have eaten in on one of our frequent visits to Venice.

La Colombina came highly recommended from both hotel staff and through my own research and this was a very good restaurant that was able to cater to me being vegetarian and to my partner. Located off a central plaza, with signage to help, the restaurant is cosy and well decorated by the owners. We were greeted with a warm, friendly... More

This is a fine little family owned restaurante with excellent food and a good wine selection. It is a bit tricky to find (located one block off of the busy Calle del Pistor in Cannaregio) but well worth the effort. I would recommend reservations, and, if time permits, finding the location during the day if you are dining in the... More

This restaurant was recommended and booked by hotel staff during our recent stay in Venice. It's tucked away in an unusual location and had the hotel receptionist not described it in detail we might have had difficulty finding it. It's a small place but beautifully set out and had a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. The food was excellent. My... More

We booked a table here to experience true Venetian cuisine and that's what was delivered! Professional and friendly staff and a great wine selection. We walked in without a reservation but I think you would need to book if travelling to Venice in the busier months. I had the best scallops ever! Followed by simply well cooked sea bass and... More

Right in the heart of Venice, between Santa Lucia train station and the Rialto Bridge, and just a few steps away from the Casino, you will find a restaurant where we have translated our welcoming philosophy into a concrete culinary experience: "La Colombina".
There are numberless reasons to visit and revisit Venice, but now you can add one more: "La Colombina", a gastronomic experience inspired by tradition but also focused on contemporaneity. In short, a new "classic" ranging from traditional Venetian dishes to unique gourmet temptations going from aperitifs to lunches and special occasions.
How to reach us:
It's incredibly simple! From Piazzale Roma or the Santa Lucia train station follow the main street (Strada Nova) towards Ponte di Rialto (take a left when exiting the train station). In the "calle" (small street) just in front of the "Teatro Italia" you will find La Colombina. We are only 10 minutes away from the central station, just a few steps from the Casino and 10 minutes from the Rialto Bridge. La Colombina is also conveniently adjacent to a "Vaporetto" stop (San Marcuola, Linea 1) and is centrally located and ideally very close to Venice's main attractions.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
