I'm not a violent man (I have my moments on the rugby pitch) but these clowns came close to a whooping tonight Just needed somewhere to grab a brew as we waited for a restaurant around the corner and it was drizzling Place filthy No loo roll in the toilet Staff plain ignorant and in fact plain weird They were... We were waiting to be seated for 5 min when we eventually sat on our own. 5 euro orange juice in a tiny glass plus small portion of cold food and burned pizza for 24 euro in total. I understand everywhere is expensive in Venice but this quality was lower then i expected

I'm pleased at how many people agree with me because this place is dreadful. Why it's in the Lonely Planet guide, I have no idea. There is a confusing sign written only in English on the counter saying "service at table". I waited 10 minutes, nobody came up. Group of girls come into the bar, order coffee at the bar.... More

Well... Everything takes a really long time. It took almost an hour to order a simple sandwhich. People were actually leaving before food arives. The staff is pretty rude. The food itself was nothing special, prices are ok if it was delivered faster.

Please read review first - even if you are very hungry. The spaghetti sauce was just awful! This spot is not worth the euros you pay. Better go to Gino's.

Every single staff is extremely rude, doesn't behave well, food is trash, overpriced. Had a very bad experience overall, never coming here again. SKIP THIS PLACE. Unless u like paying extra for nasty service.

A small place, we popped in for a quick beer and a coffee (& emergency cake!) in this friendly cafe. I've seen some negative reviews but we had a nice time there and enjoyed ourselves. Great beer, perfect coffee and €20 spent on 3 coffees, one beer and a cake so all told pretty good value

First of all - the coffee was good. BUT: The stuff was not friendly at all, the prices are quite high and the washrooms are more dirty than those in a football stadium.

It's interesting how so many people who dislike other people especially tourists should wind up working in a tourist fast food place. While I was there a shouting match broke out between a trio of tourists and the staff. The whole thing was a joke. Or would have been had I not paid €8 for a stale sandwich. Avoid

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
