Great bar great atmosphere if the locals go then it must be good and they recommended a restaurant a few yards away "Osteria La Campana" and it was excellent, all this within a minute walk from the Hotel "Alcyone".

Great staff, Andrea was very nice. Lisa of people popping in and out for a spritz or espresso which is only 1.1euro. Will return before departing venice. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Stopped in here with my brother on September 10th, 2015 to have our first Aperol Spritz. This place was highly rated, so we decided to give it a try. We were NOT disappointed! The drinks were great and the staff friendly and courteous. I showed one of the bartenders their rating on TripAdvisor, and he was quite impressed that there... More

Andrea and his team are wonderful. You know it is a good place when all the locals go for great coffee and drinks. We have gone there for 3 years in a row now. Caffeteria Doria staff are always very helpful to everyone. Andrea has given us some wonderful suggestions every time we visit. Need to try the traditional Venetian... More

We tried this caffeteria on our way to San Marco plazza. We entered in because there was many Italian people having a coffee there. We took an espresso and an Americano. Both were very good. The price was not exaggerated like in virtually all other places in Venice. We paid 2.50 euros for both! We went back there for our... More

Stopped by for a Breakfast coffee and a pastry. Good quality, friendly service and it's nice to see the typical Venetian breakfast scene.

Not broken-No fix needed! Warm welcome, great drinks-hot or cold. Genuinely nice guys running this place-lovely to see them still there over the years when so much in venice is transient. Try a Spritz 'Select' -sublime !!

This is very popular typical local standing room only bar. They serve a delicious coffee, mid-afternoon snack and you could try there one of the best spritz in town. Service is always very friendly and welcoming. Me and my friends been in this Caffeteria several times and recommend this place to everyone who would like to experience typical Venecian atmosphere.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
