We were looking for a good Italian restaurant, and it could not have been better. Nice locals, small tables, all of them occupied, cosy and rustique decorations. Waiters kind and very service-minded. We had starters and main courses, everything delicious and beautifully presented, with a...More

One dish was fine here, the mixed fried fritura for example, if somewhat more expensive than in a lot of other places. Others like pulpo in tomato sauce come in minucule amount. The medaillons of monkfish are 3 super small cut, smaller than anywhere else...More

Dear Sallemjazz, thank you for reviewing the price list of our restaurant, unfortunately Tripadvisor does not divide reasonable reviews from price - oriented opinions.

I've had a lot better for half the price in Venice. On reflection the menu could be more varied and with the angel fish in spicy sauce, the spice could be turned up more!

We had our best meal here. The squid was amazing and my son had the Lobster, which he loved. We had a lovely bottle of red wine called Madre. The service was excellent and we were very pleased they could fit us in.

The staff here is so sweet. They have a whole vegan menu which is so helpful and the food was amazing! It is a little pricey, definitely worth the money though! I will come back with my family 💕 Thank you!

Description
In the heart of Venice, close to Rialto Bridge and ten minutes from S.Marco Square, you will find the restaurant Da Mario alla Fava opened since 1960. The menu is based on recipes from traditional Venetian cuisine, recipes reworked and lightened for today's preferred tastes, with the interjection of creative reinterpretation, fresh seafood dishes as well as a tasty vegan menu. Fine desserts are home made, created with special attention at the moment. In summer the restaurant has a beautiful terrace beside a typical Venice Canal, ideal for a candle light dinner. One wall of the restaurant is lined with hundreds of photographs of famous celebrites who have enjoyed Da Mario alla Fava. Recalling Mario alla Fava motto: "If you are sad and bored with life, you will rediscover joy at Da Mario alla Fava".
