Magnificent spot, I really enjoyed the excellent food, warm atmosphere and I appreciated the elegant wine selection. Lovely to see the attention that is given to present everything so nicely. Definitely coming back

We went twice during our 3 day stay in Venice as the food was really good. The value/quality you get for the price you pay is way above what we experienced at other places. Possibly because the restaurant is not on themost beaten paths of the city. (Additional details: we had the mussels, the ravioli with ricotta, the cod with onion ice cream, the duck, the seabream stew, and the suckling pig.) It can be quite busy after 19:30, we‘d recommend to book a table in advance.

We visited last night after seeing so many fantastic reviews of the vibe and high quality food that we had to give it a go. We booked a table, something I would recommend at the slightly earlier time of 7pm, but we were worried it may still be a bit early in the evening! We were wrong. There was enough people to create a chilled vibe and had the servers we had for the evening were incredible and as it got busier we were not chased from our table. Would highly recommend the Chef's Appetizers if you are a bit of a foodie, elegantly served and beautiful flavours! We had the Vongole and the Duck Gnocchi and it was brilliant. All finished off with a beautiful tirimasu. This isn't a 'cheap eatery' but is 100% worth the price, for the level of attentiveness and excellent food.

Management of this restaurant marks any negative reviews with detailed explanation of why the guests are not satisfied, like a review biased, suspicious or fake. But oke, i just copy and past the same detailed review and also will mention Impronta, their food and how they react on my reviews to other restaurants we visited during our trip in Venice, so: We took a table for 2 without reservation in advance, because all restaurants where we would like to have a dinner were closed till 1st febr or later. So we were happy at the beginning that we finally could get our dinner. So. I ordered 2 meals (something from chief (on a big long plate, different kind of sea-food) and fish with vegetable— for main dish). My husband — pasta and fish in a sauce from tomatoes, looks more like fish in soup. + bottle of wine. What can I say... after all our positive emotions at expensive and simple restaurants in Venice, we were So shocked (!) that for more than 118€ we did get such a terrible food. I read your response about michelin trained chefs and that you were telling, that any negative opinion just could not be real (because you could not find someone in your booking list), so, we came without reservation, too, find a bill please: 31 jan, 118 euro. It was such a shock and disappointment. Your chief sea-food — overcooked, no taste, strange combinations with the rest food you served on the plate, etc., your fish — sorry, but like a rubber. I feel really confused about that 3rd place (update: 4th place, already) on Tripadviser. How that actually possible? PS. But I can give you 5 points for girl with dark hair, she really tried to do her best. Very much sweet girl. PPS. You know, guys, I don’t understand when people complain about service or something, people are people, and restaurants job is incredibly tough, but when you feed your guests such a terrible food and just can not accept that with complaints about people who is not happy with your clearly terrible food — that’s even more disrespectful to your guests. PPPS. Good restaurants (for making my point clear: osteria la lanterna (pasta was perfect, staff— professional), trattoria ai cugnai (cosy like friends kitchen). Success

It was very disappointing to receive a 1-star review from the wife whose husband also left a 1-star review a few days prior (and coincidentally these are the only two 1-star reviews we received in over 1 year), but since both you and your husband are misleading our readers and you keep adding this review even if TripAdvisor keeps removing it, it is my duty to clarify a few points: - I am not going to argue with whether you enjoyed our food or not, at the end of the day it is all about personal preferences, but you have finished all the meals that were served and when asked by the 'very much sweet girl' (as you called her) if you enjoyed everything you actually said that you did, so it does appear rather hypocritical that you both felt the need to decrease our ranking score so much to put 2 negative reviews despite we 'tried to do our best' to accommodate you (again what you said). - for your information Michelin-star Chef Corrado Fasolato did indeed train our chefs, so before calling us liars and disrespecting genuine businesses on public domains get your facts straight. - and lastly you ordered 3 main courses (all of them based on fish), the most expensive starter we offer, a decent bottle of wine and you complain about having paid less than 60 EUR per person? You clearly don't appear to have much knowledge of the restoration industry and the Venice commerce, so again reading your comments based on irrealistic expectations was very disappointing and the shame should be on you..

I chose this restaurant due to its amazing reviews on trip advisor. I never thought 2,500 people would be wrong on trip advisor but they certainly were generous with those 5 stars. I would like to say one waitress was very nice and kind and she did try to correct things throughout the meal and gave us 10 euro off when we complained a little bit. Also I noticed that they charged us the normal typical coperta of 2euros per person but they charge all the foreigners who’ve posted photos of their receipts a 12% service charge. I’m glad I was with my Italian partner and that I used some Italian but I find it discriminatory to have a higher charge for foreigners. They should only charge a coperta and let people tip if they want to. Now to the food. The food was very beautiful and all but I’ve never had such under salted dishes in a restaurant before. If you’ve got hypertension and you are trying to lower your sodium then great but otherwise this place isn’t good for people looking for flavor. I’m very used to Italian cooking as I spend my summers here and I live with an Italian. I like both complex and simple dishes. Often foreigners don’t understand that Italian food is a celebration of ingredients and that they don’t have to use a thousand seasonings and spices for flavor. However this wasn’t the issue. The issue was the dish wasn’t salted which left the flavor hidden. Salt brings out flavor. Their typical 5 sampler appetizer had some decent normal dishes.

Dear Jfaircloth3, it is very disappointing to receive your 2-star review based on the fact that you ate everything that was served on your plates and when we asked you how the dishes were you said that’s everything was fine, only you complained the duck was a bit overcooked which is the reason we practically gave it to you free of charge, and you still feel the need to tell everyone to avoid this place? As for the comment for the unsalted dishes please note not all our customers have a salt-requiring palate like yourself, which is the reason why we leave the salt on the side in case you need to add as you please, so again I don’t understand the reason for penalising our business on TripAdvisor for it. Also for your information please note we charge the ‘coperta’ and service charge to all of our customers, however we reserve the right to offer a discount to our regular customers by removing the service charge, so rest assured we don’t act in any discriminatory manner towards any of our clients. Overall this review seems rather unfair, especially from someone whose surname is ‘Faircloth’:) Thankfully as you pointed out, for every 1 customer like yourself, the other 2500 customers keep being very happy with our dishes and service, as our TripAdvisor ranking demonstrates.

One word comes to mind when I hear the name "Impronta" - exceptional. The restaurant doesn't look particularly fancy from the outside. But the low lighting and comfy seating gives it a laid back vibe. Accompanying this, were staff who humoured our broken Italian and when we realised there was a surplus of exquisite sounding dishes on the menu, they offered their finest guidance towards their favourite dishes Aperitivo: A must-have, the 'Chef's mixed ''Impronta'' appetizer'. Six small appetizers each with their own exotic flavours and textures. Primo: 'Ricotta cheese ravioli with basil pesto sauce, nuts, raisins and pine nuts'. A combination of ingredients I was unsure of to begin with, but after one mouthful, my tastebuds lit up and the flavours worked like together like a well crafted Swiss watch. Secondi: 'Duck leg with seasonal pureè and violet potatoes mash' - perfection in a dish, if you've heard of the phrase "you had me at hello" this dish deserves the food equivalent... if there is one.

Really lovely restaurant. Great ambience. Friendly and efficient service and really good and imaginative food. The beef tartare and salmon started were delicious but the mixed fish appetiser was out of this world! Would have fed 2 easily. Though my husband managed to finish it! Duck and pig to follow were equally good as was the tiramisu. 3 courses for 3 plus 2 bottles of wine and 2 of water gave a final total of 197 euros. We would thoroughly recommend

We would never have found this place without the rave reviews, nor would we necessarily have walked in even if we passed by. Yet we don’t regret going in, it was our best meal in Venice by far, maybe even best in touristy Italy. The chef is very creative, dishes are inventive and very well executed. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to our children’s requests for simpler food too. Highly recommended.

Overrated. We shared a beef and tuna tartars for starters (I usually love tartars). Beef tartar was served on top of smashed potato and you couldn’t taste anything else. It completely covered the subtle taste of beef tartar. Tuna tartar was served with some grated carrot which gave really cheap feeling. It also tasted old/unfresh and because of that I couldn’t even finish (and this never happens). On top of that the starters were very expensive, 22€ each. I had goose leg for main which was OK. The service was not great either so I seriously cannot understand the hype.

We went as a family of four with children. The food was fantastic and everyone loved it. The sharing platter starter was very innovative. The staff were keen that everything was perfect. This is not standard pizza / pasta that is found in many tourist restaurants. We found it was a notch above hence the five star review.

Beyond amazing service and wonderful flavors and some unique dishes here. We walked in around 4pm and got a reservation for 6pm and it was well worth it. We had the mixed fish appetizer (AMAZING!! And unique, a must order if you like fish), a shrimp pasta (great!), baked sea bass (pictured, AMAZING, moist and simple flavors that’s let you savor the fish), and the fried fish with vegetables (we were astounded by the pile of fish they served, and such variety!! Another must order if you like fried fish). We loved our host and server. So friendly and helpful. Absolutely wonderful, a must-eat restaurant!!! And honestly a high light of our visit to Venice.

We finally come back to our favorite city and one of the best restaurants where we ever eaten. As the last time I can say only compliments to this restaurant. The ambiance is awsome, the waiters are awsome, the dishes are delicious. If you are in Venice this restaurant is a must on your list.

It's difficult find in Venice a place to eat a excellent italian food and sounds ironic but it's the true. This place complete all expectative we can have about the italian food, attention, ambient... in other words it's the perfect place. The second time we ate in Impronta we coincided with the birthday of a local person and they gave us cake and the treatment was so great and wonderful. Have a good location near of Roma Square after you arrives to the city, the attention it's perfect and the food it's a dream. When we back again you can be sure we go to repeat this place.

The food looks beautiful but tastes absolutely terrible. The sauces for most of the pasta courses taste cheaper and worse than store bought. The service was okay but overall the worst pasta we had ever had in Venice (if not Italy as a whole), which was shocking considering the raving reviews found on here. DO NOT visit.

San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
