I needed to grab a quick late lunch, and was a little hesitant about this place... was afraid it might be just for tourists... but had a very pleasant meal and they very willingly made an adjustment to my meal which was much appreciated. (added spinach to my pesto pasta.) The meal was very reasonable, and I would come here... More

On a weekend trip to Venice we ate here twice. The food is typical of a Pizzeria/ Trattoria and on both visits we found the food to be good and the service quick and efficient. As an example, 2 pasta dishes , 3 glasses of wine, 2 desserts and a bottle of water for just over €60. Considering the area,... More

From outside was looking good. Not tasty food, i ordered polenta with venezian seppia and i received an ugly not tasty plate. I will not comeback there. I am really dissapointed. I had an intoxication, thanks God that im ok now.

We visited her for a snack lunch on January 1 and we were lucky find a seat as the place was busy. We had a slice of diavola pizza and focaccia bread ham sandwich with two black coffees. The service was very good and we enjoyed the snack! Total cost was a very affordable € 12.50!

Since the restaurant was close to our hotel, we thought we would give it a try. It was a decent dinner with very affordable prices, which has been tough to find near San Marco. The dessert was our favorite part of the meal. The ice cream sundaes were delicious and they had unique flavors!

Fast service, good basic food - nothing fancy- but it all works and the staff are efficient. If you want cheap within a stones throw of St Mark's then this is good. Must be hell in August, but it was great in December! Don't sit too near the door, and don't expect too much from the loo!

Service was good, location to San Marco Square is excellent but was disappointed with the pizza - so hard to cut! But the grilled sea bass is fresh so that covers

Enjoyed an excellent pit-stop of ciabatta and focaccia with freshly squeezed orange juice. Good value at €4.50 for the sandwiches. Just the job before visiting Doges Palace and the Campanile!

We were surprised by the quality of the food for this restaurant so near St Marks Square. Good choices and friendly staff.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
