My husband and I went to Venice for our honeymoon, we read all this reviews and decided to check the place out, we were not seated that should be a sign but we didn't note at the time then we sat for a good 15 minutes before we get the menu and another 15 minutes before we got the drinks... More

Dear Sophia, First of all we will never stop to apologize for all the time our customers have to wait a long time before be served, anyway is normal that when a restaurant is full the time of waiting increase a little bit. I remeber you so well, You ordered an apetizer and then 2 second courses. Your drinks and... More

We found this restaurant by pure chance of walking the streets. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was sensational. Their homemade tortellini with sea bass and prawns was delicious. We also shared their upside apple cake. Then we were presented with a shot of a Venetian licorice liquor on the house - delicious! 100% recommend this... More

Seeing how everyone else loved the food here I must have been super unlucky, but for all that's good and holy: do NOT eat the spaghetti in sardine sauce. In was nothing but pasta in greyish brown slime and in tasted even worse. Apart from that, the atmosphere was incredible with a bit of aussie outback. The staff was cool,... More

We loved so much the place that we came back twice. Food was good, and the staff was so nice. We did feel we are like their family there. It was nice that you can leave a picture or message in a paper placed in the walls. It was do cute. I already miss the place.

This place has a fun, relaxed atmosphere. My husband and I ordered the lobster spaghetti and it was really salty we had to mix in the table bread and choke it down with wine to get rid of the salty taste. But the house wine was great! Prices were great and service was average.

We found this near to where we stayed in Venice, an ideal casual restaurant with a fun style decor! The lasagna was delicious and my husband had spaghetti carbonara which was really tasty too. Definitely worth going to for a relaxed meal if you're near the Castello/Cannaregio area, would recommend it.

We had an early dinner there before the crowd showed up. It's a busy walk way so if your not into eating around a lot of people you should eat inside. We had the buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes. The cheese was amazing but I have to say the tomatoes were not the best. Just not fully ripe. My wife had... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
