Stopped in for lunch today and both of us had pasta. Both were very good and we would go back again.

Average food, and reasonably priced for such an expensive area. The tables by the window are pleasant, but there is little atmosphere upstairs.

I had been walking for 2 hours and decided to give this place a go as my feet needed a rest. Staff were a little indifferent, it felt kind of robotic and didn't feel like a restaurant in Venice. Menu's are the giveaway to the owners - laminated menu's with photos. I got the impression that the owners may not... More

Meandering through the Venice streets, we came upon this spot for a warm cuppa and some sweets. It was friendly and cozy, though a bit overpriced (but THAT'S Venice). We liked the atmosphere and the sweet fritter-like sweets that went with our hot drinks--appreciated on the damp January day!

We stopped in for a light meal. We started with a pepperoni pizza. More than enough for two. My wife then had fettuccine Alfredo. All good. Excellent service. Reasonable prices.

I never advice that restaurant especially who wants to eat Pizza..We have eaten different pizzas in Al Teatro Goldoni last week. All of them was horrible. And prices are so high when we compare with the other restaurants near by in Venice. Think twice before you enter that place..!

The staff were friendly enough and the service pronto - but I had to send out a search party for the salami that was meant to be on the pizza About 8 tiny coin sized salami slices were provided on a generously sized pizza It was basically cheese and tomato base with mean sized protein Beware - its in a... We went here late at night after arrival and checking in. Food was not terrible but also not decent for the price. The worst was seeing all cooks were asian. This is not a racial thing but for a restaurant that boasts traditional Italian family cooking, I would expect Italian kitchen staff and cooks.

Overall this is an average place. What I didn't realise is they charge you 2 EUR Coperto or cover charge just for sitting down. Whilst it will be written down somewhere its not made that visible. The meal was very much average. Glass of presecco and red wine with a pizza 30 EUR. Up to you very much average, had... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
