We happened upon this restaurant after a bad experience earlier in the evening when we left an establishment after poor service. The location is very atmospheric, beside one of the small canals, the staff were first rate and the baked sea bass was wonderful.

Super food but as we chose fresh fish it was a little costly. The wine was also quite expensive but worth it for a special night by the canal

We had a shared pizza and a glass of wine heading back from the Arsenale. Great way to end the afternoon. Located overlooking the canal seemed like the sort of place you could return to in the evening for a pleasant dinner. Friendly service and pretty good pizza. They also specialise in seafood.

Good location and operates a tourist menu for 3 courses for around €18 which is great value, however you are absolutely crammed in and get the impression it is a fast production line, as quick as they can move people on. Food & service very average with tables so crammed together you struggle to get in & too close to... More

We had dinner here in April. Lovely location, good food, and wonderful presentation of the meal. Our server was friendly and outgoing.

Good points: Situated beside a canal with a bridge and bell tower within view. The place is nicely decorated and captured the ambience of Venice. Bad points: Food is so so.... Not great and not too bad. You are paying for the view basically. We opted for the venecian menu which was seafood pasta as a starter, then mixed seafood... More

We ate twice here, once in the evening on our first day. The waiters were very friendly and the atmosphere was very convivial. The sea bream was great. We even got 2 free glasses of limoncello as we were asked to move a lttle bit to accommodate a larger party of 7. It was no problem for us at all.... More

Had a good dinner here at a reasonable price. Five minutes walk from San Marco alongside a canal with nice outdoor and inside dining. Lively, friendly staff and very welcoming. Worth a visit.

This was our best experience of eating in Venice. We found it of reasonable value and good quality. There is canal-side seating if it's warm about but we went inside. The waiter was very helpful and gave many recommendations. The red wine is disappointing but that is a general problem in Venice and may be just a personal thing. The... More

We found this restaurant by chance and had a great 3 course dinner. We were so please we went back again 2 nights later. There are many many restaurants in Venice so to go back to one during a 4 night stay shows how happy we were.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
