Amazing! 10 out of 5! We came in after walking and sightseeing in Venice on our anniversary trip and were greeted with amazing and stellar service by Erikson. Incredible food, wine and excellent service. Warm friendly environment with delicious dinner by candlelight with romantic music. Best place in Venice. Definitely be back and sending our friends here as well. Thank you so very much for the best experience!!!!

There are several good restaurants in this area, and we chose this as the menu looked good and the location outside, just beside a very small canal, was quiet and enticing. We both had the daily fish pasta specials, mine based on lobster and the other on I think sea bass. They were wonderful. Service was good and discreet and helpful, and they have an excellent wine menu.

I was headed to another restaurant and came by this one instead. I stayed and it was worth it! It was early. 18:00, and there was only one other table occupied. I ordered riccotta/spinach ravioli, a mixed salad and sliced beef. It was great, especially the ravioli which were outstanding. I drank an Aperol spritz, a bottle of water, a glass of red wine, a capuchino and a grappa and the bill was 67 euro. Good! The service was excellent. They went out of their way to explain things to me and I heard them doing the same for other customers later. Highly recommended.

I booked via The Fork because it said we would get 20% off the bill. That never happened. My daughter ordered a tonno e cipolla pizza which somehow transmogrified into something with ham and mushrooms on it, neither of which she likes. We ordered some bresaola which never came. I think the head waiter guy had a bit of an erratic night. Anyway, the food wasn’t terribly expensive (the head waiter had pumped me to take oysters, the “special” on that evening, and they were very good, simply served with some lemon, they were about 3e each. I thought I might get ripped off, and was pleasantly surprised I wasn’t). The fritto misto di mare was good too, hot and crispy on the outside. Drinks were reasonably priced, our glasses of refosco were lovely. So in conclusion; food is good; don’t expect to get 20% off unless you want to hound the staff for it; and be prepared for someone to forget your order or mess it up somewhat. If you are easily annoyed or dislike on-the-hoof comedy try the Dona Onesta.

First of all , service was outstanding and extraordinary. Great Team of nice people. Place is nice and cozy and outside tables are located In hidden and quiet street where you can Eat In silence far away from venice crowd. We all had sea Food and it was great, no complains at all. For our small son they prepared meat and kindly warmed it up later cause he fall asleep during dinner. Good choice if various wines and In the end great coffe. Overall, place to come back and add it to a favourites.

It is a perfect place to eat some great prepared and tasty food. I have to admit that I haven't eaten so good food in restaurant for a long time (there's a lot of touristic places in Venice but many times the food isn't very good -) in Osteria Al Vecio Forno you can eat something delicious. The mussels and fried fish were fresh and super tasty. The service is just fantastic and have great sens of humour. We will be back and we recommend you to go there also.

We were excited about this restaurant after seeing the reviews and pictures but we were very disappointed, both by the service and the food. We had to sit inside where it was way too hot and uncomfortable. The waiter was rude, loud and made fun of some of us for not ordering alcohol, which was very unpleasant. The food was average at best. The pasta was fine, but the meat was dry and borderline inedible. The food looked nothing like the pictures on here, it resembled typical airplane food. Something must have changed because we cannot fathom how this restaurant is rated so highly.

Visited here last week. We were early as heading onto Venice Jazz Club after dinner. A very friendly welcome. Excellent value Great menu with specials aswell Shared some scallops and bruschetta to start. The scallops fresh and straight out of the oven. Delicious Highlight for me for a half fresh lobster with a tomato based pasta. Very generous and amazing value at 28€ Our other main course were ravioli filled with sea bass. Almost as good as the lobster A good value Soave went well with all the food There was a great atmosphere in the place and lovely to see the so professional chefs and staff working away so well. Of course we had to share a very generous tiramisu and coffee before we left. After a week in Venice on our last night this was by far the best restaurant we had eaten in We look forward to returning. A really well run restaurant with excellent and friendly staff. Well done.

We loved this meal and if we weren't in Venice for only three days we would have definitely returned to this restaurant. From great food, to great service(Erickson) they were also able to accommodate my daughter's nut allergy which is not always easy when eating out. We already recommended this to friends who just went a few days ago and they too had an awesome experience.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We requested an outdoor table for 4 which they were happy to arrange for us. Being able to book online is a bonus. The food was outstanding. The best meal we had in Venice. It’s worth knowing that the bread/Grissini are not complimentary (€10 for 4) which was a bit of a surprise when we got the bill. But we did have a wonderful time and I would definitely eat there again.

Restaurant is in such a lovely, romantic and intimate setting down a classic Venetian side street lined with tables of two. The street leads to a canal at the bottom where Gondala’s and boats pass by. The food is great, we recommend the bruschetta and Lasagne! The best thing about our restaurant was an amazing waiter called Erikson. He made us laugh and he really made us feel special. We were playing cards between courses and once we’d finished he asked for our cards to perform a few magic tricks! He was also training a young girl who he was patient with and we could tell she would flourish in her role.

The food in this restaurant is absolutely terrible. I’m surprised to see that the restaurant has gotten some good reviews which really makes you doubt the authenticity of them. This is a typical tourist trap serving ingredients that can only be described as tasteless. The seafood served is not fresh. This is a place to be avoided for sure. Do not trust any of the positive reviews as they are clearly not authentic.

We passed this restaurant when it was closed and thought it looked nice, so decided to make a reservation. When we arrived, we discovered that the atmosphere was not as we expected with an open grill in the restaurant next to the tables with several guys cooking noisily behind it and very loud, obnoxious music. Nonetheless, we persisted and ordered two courses. Neither course was good and we only ate a small portion of the second. When the waiter picked up our plates and asked if it was "good", we said "not good" and he then had a tantrum, demanding to know what was wrong with it. When we complained as well about the noisy atmosphere, he told us that we should have walked out when we walked into the restaurant -- and we wish we had! He then came back to the table three more times to argue further and when we asked for the bill, we asked for someone else to bring it (which they did). We strongly recommend that you avoid this restaurant for all of the above reasons!

San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
