My partner and I discovered the garden when we took a wrong turning while exploring Venice. I thought it looked so pretty, I made him promise to bring me back for supper the following evening. The food was pleasant, service was unrushed (I had to ask for several things which irks me slightly, but that seems to be the laid-back... More

Wonderful night, wonderful food, the service is very slow but why rush dinner in Venice, enjoy the night. Be careful if the water in Venice has risen because the restaurant is prone to flooding as we found when our feet were sploshing in the water, easily fixed, we were moved to another table.

Recommended by hotel manager and reviews on here seemed ok. Single waiter and full restaurant led to 55 mins in and we had just finished first course. Do not have the prawns, rocket n lemon starter unless you have read this, it was literally cool shelled mini prawns on some rocket leaves with a slice of lemon, 17 euros! The... More

We came here per Lonely Planet & TripAdvisor recommendation, and the location is in between Santa Croce and Rialto. We had sea bass and pasta with clams and they were very tasty and perfectly done. However, the service can be improved on 2 areas: it was slow as there was only 1 server and try to ask the customer first... More

We both had a wonderful Spaghetti dinner with wine. This restaurant is off the beaten track, but easy to find

We chose this restaurant off TripAdvisor after our first choice was closed on a Saturday (go figure). It has a pretty extensive menu for a small place but some interesting dishes. The owner initially started taking our order but got upset & walked off when we chose the cuttlefish risotto (min 2 ppl) with the intention of then ordering mains... More

My husband and I found this gem hidden in the little streets of Venice. The food is absolutely delicious and the little garden where we had dinner is so romantic. The owner and the staff are very kind and warm too. We simply had 2 great meals!

We had dinner here twice as it was just minutes away from our apartment. The first time we shared the fish carpaccio and mixed vegetable antipasto which were both excellent, followed by steak tartare (not brilliant) and sea bass (lovely). It was a delightful atmosphere eating in the garden under greenery and candle light and the service was very good.

We ate here twice during our stay in Venice as it was close to our hotel. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. The grilled steak was very good and the mixed grilled fish was superb. Good choice of wine and desserts and reasonable prices for the quality of the food.

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
