Start your day in Venice with a walk over the Rialto bridge, through the vegetable and fish markets planning to end up at the oldest and best stops for Cicchetti in Venice. Been there since the 1400's it's great after their 830 opening for breakfast...More

Supposedly the older continuously open hostelry in Venice (think it dates back to about 1430 or so). Very small but full of atmosphere. We were the only tourists in the place - obviously a haunt for locals. The wine is kept in barrels and there...More

We visited this cantina as part of a walking gastronomy tour, and it was very authentic, with a wide range of cicchetti to choose from. Apparently a cantina originally produced its own wine so they are usually quite personal and definitely not part of a...More

The oldest bar in Venice. 1462 was their first year. Go for the history, go to try different. They have a prosecco without the fizz and it was great.

Cantina do Mori is an absolute must to get a sense of the local importance of socializing over the 'aperitivo'. Known for the 'tramezzini' and the tapas-like 'cicchetti' in general, you can also find regional recipes (the baccalà mantecato is to die for). Good selection...More

The concierge at our hotel recommended this place for wine and cicchetti. We stopped by for lunch after visiting the Rialto market. The place was busy with tourists as well as locals. The cicchetti and tramezzinis were delicious! We also enjoyed the variety of wines....More

San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the

neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the
markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops
display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San
Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi)
