This is one of the most established Indian food restaurants in Milan. The atmosphere is somehow less ethnic than you would expect, maybe because of the roomy place available. Anyhow, the kitchen behind the glass will leave you without doubts and so will the food which is tasty and clearly very traditional.. Overall good value for money even if service... More

Staff were nice, but didn't speak much English. Food was good, but quite expensive for what it was. Quite tasty

Very nice dinner with attentive and quick staff and nice Indian flavors.Probably not busy just because it is a little hidden and you have to know it to get there, not in a street were people just pass by and stop to eat. Lots of vegan/vegetarian choices. Will go back for sure:).

The melange of spices that suffuse Indian food is meant to not only preserve food and make it tasty but also to have a subtle and beneficial effect on the body, furnishing the micro nutrients and minerals needed to optimize the body'd ability to stave off infections while remaining energized and poised. There are ancient combinations of ingredients that act... More

As a British Indian wanting some authentic Indian food after a couple of weeks of travelling, I was craving a good couple of dishes and eating in good quantity. Unfortunately, rice was at an extra cost to the over-priced main dishes, which I thought would be complimentary given their prices. Furthermore, ordering naan at €3 a pop when the ingredients... We kept our expectations low after reading the reviews here and braced ourselves for terrible service. We were pleasantly surprised. Service all over Italy in the past 5 weeks that we have been here has been cold and hasty. At Sarla, the waiter was attentive and everything arrived in reasonable time with no hiccups. We ordered veggie samosas, butter chicken,... More

I was there two years ago with a good friend from India. We had a really good time. The food was excellent and my friend confirmed that it really tasted Indian. So, after trying a few other places, I decided to come back with my children (8 and 6) and another friend, an Indian born and raised in the UK.... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
