After reading reviews we want to Sarmassa which was a 10 minute walk from our hotel. We had had a big lunch so we only shared an antipasti cold cut plate which was great. For mains we had the lamb and the beef fillet which were both excellent! The lamb especially stood out! Desserts were nice too. The extensive wine... More

We booked at this place for New Years Eve dinner, honestly we did not expect a great meal in a busy restaurant on New Years eve, but how wrong we were, OK service was not the fastest, to be expected but each dish was heaven, a great selection of wine and spirits, definitely the owner must be a aficionado of... Authentic and magic atmosphere of historic styles make you especially relaxed and especially savored. Because they have really perfect menu and vines.

I've been there several times and every time I go to Bergamo I have dinner at la Sarmassa. small and cozy place, superb food and excellent wine list. A must go for tourists and locals, better to book. The location is also very good for a nice walk in the city center before or after the dinner.
