Went there both nights we stayed in La Spezia. Calamari last night , seafood lasagne tonight. Yes , it is paper plates and you select from what's available , but great , fresh food. Minimal English was no problem for us. €2 wine (in plastic cup) was very good !! May go back again for lunch tomorrow. Believe they are... More

This was recommended by the lady at the hotel front desk. It turned out to be a cafeteria-type place that serves gourmet meals. Inexpensive drinkable wines - yes. Wide variety of seafood dishes at very reasonable prices (5 to 7 Euros). The seafood lasagna was excellent - cheese light and flavorful, tomato sauce tangy but not overpowering, even the noodles... Self service, fresh fish and shellfish served with local vegetables. Nice and clean. If you are looking for fish its a good choice.

. I had the cod and aubergine dish with French fries. The food is served cafeteria style and the food was not adequately re- heated, which is dangerous when serving fish. It had little flavour. The fries were cold, hard and stale. The service was perfunctory. Restaurant prices for cafeteria food and service. Not the best culinary experience in La... More

Came across this restaurant while out for a walk. There was a long queue so decided to go back later in the day. It's simplicity itself. You chose a dish from those on display, have it served on a plastic plate and off you go to a tented area to eat with your plastic cutlery. The fish is freshly cooked... More

I was recommended to go here by one of the local tourist information points, but I seemed to be the only tourist there. Fresh seafood, very friendly staff, great location near the marina. It is definitely a "no frills" restaurant, but this is what I loved about it. Drinking wine out of a small, plastic cup is nothing that bothers... More

This is a very popular place for tourists looking to have some fish with a reasonable expense. Naturally you get what you pay for.

I actually like the theme of this restaurant. You point to an already prepared batch of food. They give you a portion and you pay for it simple as that. You absolutely can't buy a cheaper seafood meal than this and fresh off the boat also! I had the polipo (octopus) and potatoes which came with in a red sauce.... More

We were recommended this place by the hotel owner where we stayed overnight. We went early as we were warned that we would have to stay in the queue. When we arrived at about 19.00 the queue was indeed there and long… Locals apparently like this place and queue before they even open. As it is a self-service place we... More

We went there twice, very good food, cheap wine! They told us they fish everyday. Food was fresh and nice.
