Nice place to sit back and watch the crowd. Nice selection of food. From pizza to pasta with seafood. Easy walk from or to the train station. They have a nice breakfast, incase your hotel does not offer.

My wife and I split a pizza at La Tavernetta for lunch. Not the best pizza that I have in Italy but still very good. Price for the pizza was around 6€ but we had a case of sticker shock when we were charged 3,50€ apiece for two Cokes. Overall service was good, location near the estazione centrale in La... More

As vegetarians, we took each double portions of verdure grigliate, side dishes of green beans and of spinach and a side dish of patate arrosto. The melanzane were a bit chewy, the zucchini were ok as were the fagioli, spinacci tasteless, patate arrosto very good. The vino rosso was cold, the coffee was good. However, the young lady serving was... More

Below average food. Bad service. Went there on way home from the train station one early evening (around 5:30), there was only one other couple eating when we arrived. After ordering we waited about 45-1hour for food to arrive, ridiculous amount of time when so quiet. Out of 3 dishes ordered we had to send 2 back because the meat... More

It was really bad service. We were waiting for our food for more then 1 hour. After we complained they said it is a lot of people to serve. They really don't have any system to put food out. Some people that came 30 minutes later got food faster then we did!!! The food we ordered was bad and Tagliata... More

This was the only restaurant we found on our walk from the harbour to the station that was open for diner at 18:30. I know, Italian restaurants open late. We had a spaghetti carbonara, which was not bad but also not the best we ever had. The dessert was a tiramisu, this was a very nice one. The servants are... More

The pizza and calzone was amazing. Must say one of the best I had. The lasagna was a surprise, from what I have in the UK, it is layers of lasagna sheets with bolognese sauce; we got served a lasagna flat across the plate but taste quite yummy (shame I forgot to take a picture). Also the tiramisu tasted quite... More

Unfortunately I do not have much praise for La Tavernetta. While the food was middle of the road Italian, the service is really where this restaurant fell flat on its face. It is one of the places that knows you probably won't return for a second time so they do not feel as though they need to put their best... More
