This is the 3rd time we have been back in just over a week! Absolutely loved by locals, both Saturday lunch and Saturday dinner were packed (we were lucky to get a table!) I then booked for Monday evening and thank goodness I did because it was just as packed! As we sat there drinking our delicious house wine, eating... More

This was recommended by NH hotel staff and they were right. The service was outstanding and the food delicious. You must try the pesto

Pesto originates from Liguria because of the abundance of nut-bearing pines in this region. Forget the beige gloop of UK supermarkets, here they serve the real thing made with basil and olive oil. We tried it with trofie and with gnocchi, both home made light and delicious. Ricotta cheese and polpetti (meatballs) also delicious. Very nice wee place and they... More

We stopped here after a recommendation from our hotel. It is a busy spot with locals and we where squeezed in just. So book or come early. We had a few starters and the signature gnocchi with pesto. All was good and enjoyed. The service was great.

We ate at Il Genovese several times when we lived in Genoa for 3 months from April - June 2016. The owner is really nice and proud of his pesto, which is spectacular! We went with our 3 kids and I also took business colleagues... always great food and good service! Their hours are Monday - Saturday: 12:00 (noon) -... More

My wife and I spent three nights in Genoa recently - a very underrated city - and went to dinner at Il Genovese our first night there. We visited in October, so not the peak of tourist season of course, but had no problems getting a table around 8pm on a Friday evening. Our meal was excellent. We split an... More

Typical Genovese food, the clientele was locals and service was good but a little slow in lunch prime time.

From the oven baked bread to the homemade Pasta and especially their pesto. The reviews are right. A must stop location. Service was great. Their house wine is smooth and all priced well. Best thing is you can buy the pesto to take home after you fall in love with it. Amazing !

This restaurant offers delicious authentic "Ligurian" dishes. It is my favourite restaurant in the area and I always make sure that I dine there whenever I go back to Genoa. The staff are cool and the service is great...I highly reccomend it... it won't disappoint you

On our recent trip to Genoa, we asked for recommendations of restaurants from our hotel. This was one of the recommendations. Not too far away from the hotel, we arrived without a reservation and were seated. The physical menu had a paragraph of information about the local food specialities and another paragraph of who the suppliers to the restaurant were,... More
