Service and food here are top class. The pasta is the best I’ve eaten in Italy. The Zuppa Inglese and the pannacotta are amazing.

I have dined at La Traviata at least a half dozen times over the course of four visits to Bologna. It remains my favorite restaurant in Bologna and perhaps all of Italy. The food is that good. I have had issues with the service on...occasion. So, I can understand some of the less favorable reviews on Trip Advisor. Signora Manuela, the owner and chef, is delightful and welcoming. I find that it is best to ignore the menu and just let her do her magic. Dinner last night was outstanding, from the zucchini flowers to the lasagna to the mascarpone. These are some of my favorites at La Traviata and I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better rendition of these dishes anywhere else in Italy:More

We made a reservation just a few hour earlier by phone. As soon as we arrived in time and the manager saw us (and that we are not the regular white couple) he suddently coudnt find the reservation any more but didnt bother to look...up our names. All that in a very unfriendly, rude way.More

This place came with a good storyline but the truffle on my plate was nowhere near the one we were offered to us beforehand. Mine had virtually no truffle aroma or taste. For 30 euros I expected something better than a placebo. Nice place otherwise...so shame about this!More

This is the best 'theatre' in town, simply wonderful. Great atmosphere presided over by the owner who took care of every table. I shall long remember the presentation of the fresh huge white truffle to all who had ordered it, to smell and marvel over...and then the ceremonial revealing of the tagliatelle al tartufo - what an aroma! You simply must go here. At the end we were given complementary limoncello. This was an experience where you simply ended up talking to and sharing enjoyment with those around you.More

Lovely welcome from the owner at La Traviata. A proud lady showing us the fresh mushrooms that day! She translated the menu very nicely and recommended dishes for our three courses. The suckling pig dish was a wow and the ravioli and the fried courgette...flowers BUT the tirasamu was brilliant. The best tiramasu I have ever tasted - thank you!More

I'm sure they have non-meat vegetarian options, but probably not Vegan. It depends on your version of "vegetarian".

We averaged about €60 if I remember correctly for the two of us. That included a bottle of local wine, start, mains and desert. They give us a bottle of lemoncello at the end to have shots from and that was free and... More
