I hadn't been there for a while, the location is really very beautiful, we have dinner on the lawn of the outdoor garden overlooking the beautiful view of Bologna, the light at sunset is really beautiful, and when the light goes down there are lots of small lamps on the tables which make the atmosphere really nice. The menu is really very interesting with many dishes (both meat and fish) that are really very good (there were 7 of us for my sister's birthday, so we tasted many dishes...) Reviewing them all would be complicated... (go there and believe me you will be very satisfied) the table service guys are all very young, very kind, professional and very well trained. The cost considering location, service and quality of food is very good in my opinion In my opinion one of the best restaurants in Bologna today. Well done, well done, well done

Nice place but not in line with the cuisine

Truly panoramic and beautiful location especially in the evening, good level of service even if, when the place is full, the waiters tend to miss something, but the staff is numerous so it makes up for it. The sore point is the quality/price ratio; we took some dishes and, apart from the really delicious friggione and two good Catalan creams, the rest was, sorry to say, rather mediocre, in particular the passatelli with scorpion fish and the mojitos (I would say the worst mojito I've ever had), the famous fried dish for two it was average, like octopus. The bill of 50 euros, however, is a little high, in the surroundings of Bologna you can eat much better in pleasant locations with 30 percent less. However, the overall experience was pleasant thanks to the site and the service.

Sunday 15 October was a fantastic reunion with friends thanks also to this location for the excellent food served and the spectacular view of Bologna. I recommend the mixed fry as a starter and the tagliatelle with chanterelles or tortellini in parmesan cream as first courses. 3 starters 6 first courses 2 wines (Controluce di Manaresi, excellent) water and coffee 41 euros each. The price is average but the quality of the food is excellent. Considering that we are 15 minutes by car from the center of Bologna. Advised!!!

I've only been to The Priest's Mouthful once, but I'm hardly going back a second time. Thanks to the location and the very positive reviews it enjoys, we chose as a couple to book a table for lunch. However, the dining experience was not the best. Probably ideal place for aperitifs or similar, to avoid if you want to have a good meal. PROS: a) away from the city chaos b) parking spaces c) pleasant atmosphere The restaurant is easy to reach, about 6 km from Bologna, in a context of good atmosphere and isolated from the chaos of the city. It has ample parking (about 30 parking spaces) unattended, accessible by dirt road. It enjoys a good view of the city although it has no seats at the table that offer panoramic views. CONS: a) approximate service b) bad value for money c) unreliable menu The menu described "fried typical of Bolognese cuisine", "ideal as a side dish or as a main course for two people". Well told on the menu but definitely worse the yield. The products were completely frozen and not remotely typical (in the menu it was explicit that some products could be frozen, but not specified what they were). Poor frying and second-hand. The first course was average, without infamy and without praise, rather meager in quantity, especially in a region where it is really easy to eat much better in cheaper contexts. Le acciughe sono del mar Cantabrico, solo per precisare che non sono del mar Antartico; sono lavorare dall’azienda Nardin, tra le più storiche al mondo, con più di 100 anni di esperienza, lavorano e conservano il prodotto manualmente una ad una. La scatola di latta, che apriamo direttamente a tavola, è da parte nostra un’ulteriore servizio di trasparenza verso l’ospite. (Mi scuso per il disagio che le ha creato il servizio di apertura e per la mancanza di precisione nel pulire l’olio caduto). Il burro che Lei definisce, pacchettino tipo quello degli Hotel, è un burro francese proveniente da Machecoul un paesino della Loira Atlantica. L’azienda è Beillevaire, da quasi 50 anni lavorano il burro con metodi tradizionali; l’uso delle zangole di legno per mantecare il burro con latte crudo, l’aggiunta di cristalli di sale marino proveniente dall’isola di Noirmountier, ma l’utilizzo di latte crudo, come lei saprà, cambia il gusto del burro in base al tipo di erba che le mucche mangiano durante l’anno, rendono questo prodotto molto particolare. Anche se in questo piatto, come lei dice non c’è intervento dello chef, non sono d’accordo con la sua mancanza di rispetto verso piccoli produttori che con il loro duro lavoro, si impegnano al massimo per far degustare anche a chi non apprezza, il frutto del loro lavoro! Very pleasant lunch with the family. Family and welcoming atmosphere. Variety in the dishes offered and availability for special requests even for children. Staff attentive to customer requests. The wine list is excellent. We will return soon to be able to admire the view and nature that surrounds the location.

Unfortunately the evening wasn't the best, it was raining and cold. Even the fog. While the restaurant is certainly in an excellent location, the food did not satisfy the table of 13 people and when we carefully checked the receipt we found €42.00 for the cake cutting. It seems to me that €3.00 per person is unacceptable, especially because no one had told us the cost. 'If you want the cake, we'll cut it' is the proposal but they were careful not to indicate the relative expense. Adding to the dissatisfaction with the dishes offered, we do not recommend the place. And we won't be going back anyway.

Confermo che abbiamo il servizio di giacenza e taglio torta per le torte che non vengono fatte da noi o da pasticcerie che collaborano con noi. Le avremmo comunicato per tempo, il costo del servizio se ci avesse comunicato in anticipo che avrebbe portato una torta. Sicuramente non le abbiamo detto che era gratis il taglio torta. Embarrassing, let me start by saying that we are a company that has no problem spending even €100/150 each or whatever It's worth it and there's love behind it! But here from the Service, to the food, to the attitude of the staff we are in really bad shape. I don't know who makes the positive reviews but certainly no one used to eating well. Out of stock wine list, staff hanging out on social media during service rather than working, in addition to this rudeness and inattention, after an inflated bill with an €85 bottle not taken (which we noticed) and without even having the basket some bread, rather than an apology, head down and pretend nothing happened!! I'll give you some advice by doing the same job, lunch customers are worth just as much as dinner ones!

I was looking for a nice place to eat with my boyfriend in the hills that was traditional, but also modern. This place surprised us thanks to its very high quality. For how we ate I would give 5 stars, but due to some accident I only gave 4, in particular we were brought the wrong bill... The welcome focaccia with delicious oil was very welcome, as were the breadsticks and pumpkin bread. We loved the appetizer with octopus and the first courses. I haven't eaten this well in a long time! The view is beautiful, even in the evening.

I won't go anymore. November 2023 After 2 years, all my positive thoughts about this restaurant have changed, see below. Let's start from the fact that the cover costs 3.50 euros each but you can't even see a tablecloth, not even a paper one, nothing, it was there before and it was also elegant, then the sore point is that the dishes no longer have the care they had back then, certainly the the raw material remained the same but the final result did not. Basic ingredients were missing. E.g. Catalan cream with saffron... saffron not received... Then the service got worse we waited but we had to request things twice…..the location is wonderful, but this is not up to them, end. Prices have remained more or less the same. Medium high. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT ANYMORE.

A place with a beautiful evening view and a very comforting environment for a couple. But I also saw a family having fun and someone alone enjoying the pleasure of food and tranquility. We could use some background music to make the atmosphere more magical and the service is as excellent as the quality of the food. An experience to do over and over again. Nice place, with all the credentials to have a nice lunch experience with friends but this was NOT the case. The thing that ruined the atmosphere the most was undoubtedly the service. The waitress at our table that day definitely would have wanted to do anything less than be there. She was inattentive, rude, fleeting. He brings the wine list, we choose the bottle and after 15 minutes he comes back to say it wasn't there. Let's change wine. When he pours it, serving the men first (but okay, we are in modern times, nothing to say), he empties the entire contents of the bottle into glasses of uneven quantities among us diners. This during the appetizers. At the time of the first one we order another bottle and he brings the wrong one, he realizes it when he is about to open it because we point it out to him (he brings a white instead of a rosé) and without saying anything he goes away and comes back after I don't know how long. Now let's finish the first courses without wine. The time comes for the bill and we notice a bottle worth €85 on the bill instead of €35. We point it out and the staff pretend nothing happened and remove it, without apologies or discounts for what happened. I forgot… bread basket? Never seen. The only praise for the fried food although not so rich for €25 and for the good dessert. My rabbit? There are many good restaurants in Bologna… avoid this one!

Unfortunately we were disappointed by both the food, of rather poor quality, and the place itself. Too bad because the view is really the strong point, but the veranda is small and the space is badly organized, so you can not converse with the diners without screaming... they accommodated us in a table of two and there were three of us, without even an extra chair or a support for bags, nor a coat rack next to it.
