Bolognese cuisine is often delicious, but it is usually hearty, meat-based and inclined to be heavy. We'd enjoyed some meals like this, but on our last night in the city we felt like a change to something lighter. TripAdvisor came up with the answer. Sale Grosso would be hard to stumble across, tucked away on a back street in the... More

There is nothing unnecessary in this simple but good quality restaurant. The menu is not long, wine list does not have anything more expensive than about 20 euro but the food you are served is excellent with clear and fast service. Essentially a seafood eatery.

Fairly good quality of food? Seafood pasta is excellent. Frittata platter is mediocre. The catalogue is restricted and doesn't have so many options. Warm atmosphere.

I went for dinner to Sale Grosso and had a very good experience. The host and hostess are firiendly and welcoming without being intrusive. Service is excellent and fast. The food is very good: fish is fresh and recipies are simple and sophisticated at the same time. You can taste the knowledge of traditional ingredients mixed with a high quality... More

We have eaten all over Bologna during our nearly month stay. This restaurant surpassed all. Tomorrow is our last day here but my husband wants to return. The restaurant is off the beaten path, but well worth finding. Be sure to make a reservation because the Italians fill it up. There's lots of seafood on the menu. My husband enjoyed... More

I had dinner there with other 8 friends, we all chose different dishes and everyone was delicious. The broken note in the entire evening was the gross customer near us that first did not want to pay the dessert cous she said there were hair inside (I chose the same dessert, they are 100% mango's fibers, without any chance to... Fresh & tasty fish dishes. Efficient service. I can only advise this place even if the inside as nothing really special in terms of decoration.

This is one of those places that need no introduction. Found it in Michelin guide. Menu is simple and great, good wine card, excellent value, impeccable quality, family run.

This is one of my favorite trattorias in Bologna. Fresh seafood prepared in non traditional ways: pretty to look at and always delicious. Its been open for several years but I hesitated reviewing it for fear of not finding a table when I wanted to go. You will need Reservations as it is small and seems like everyone has found... More
