Fabulous lunch today at La Montanara. This small intimate restaurant never fails to please. It has a small but eclectic menu and good wines. The torta salata with leeks and pancetta was fantastic - wafer thin pastry and a filling that melted in the mouth, beautifully seasoned and piping hot. The one dish you have to try is the tagliolini... More

I had dinner at this small and cosy restaurant (booking is necessary). The waiters were very kind and the food was simple but delicious, the ham and mortadella mousse in particular. The tagliatelle and the dessert were nice too. The price was more than reasonable. I'll visit this restaurant again and I'd recommend it highly.

This is a good, traditional, local lunch spot. You'll be surrounded by Italians doing their thing, not tourists, and the well cooked food is genuine and hearty. Recommended. Not flash but a good place to drop in.

A decent place with friendly, trilingual (at least), and efficient service. Food was good, but not great. A filet with balsamic sauce was nice but drenched with balsamic crema. A mushroom and Parmesan salad was uncooked and with no dressing. This place is good, but needs more quality to go over the threshold to the next level.

The restaurant has got only a few tables so it might be difficult to find a seat but it is worth it! My husband and I had a good Sunday lunch (lasagne). The atmosphere is very relaxed, the staff are very nice

Always very crowded but waiters are nice and try to let you sit normally but suggest to book. Food is amazing. Must to try are the tray with appetizers... Mortadella mousse is .. smack!! I also discovered cotoletta alla bolognese .. meat with... Won't tell you .. just felt the need to confess publicly my gluttony sins on Facebook ...... More

A genuine family run trattoria with proper food, sensible prices and a pleasant atmosphere. Good value dishes and wine choices, no issues with sharing. Recommended.

We went with my family.the food was delicious. Very typical of the Emilia romana area but also showing the chef's competence and creativity. The service was friendly and warm. Excellent pasta dishes and starters. Meat plates were ok but not superb. Booking is absolutely necessary.

It is a nice small place and it is better to reserve a table in advance. It is very cute inside and confortable. I have been there several times and i have always eaten very well. I can suggest the mixed appetizer or the lasagna, but also the tortellini and the cotoletta alla bolognese are very Good.

La Montanara was a delight. It was recommended by a NYC friend who grew up in Bologna, and the restaurant was everything he promised it would be. There's a solid neighborhood feel to the place. The husband-and-wife owners are friendly and attentive, the menu choices are appealing, and the wine list is reasonably priced, with a solid range of alternatives.... More
