We went here on spec, although I had read reviews that suggested it would be worth a try. We were debating whether we preferred to sit inside or out when we were accosted at the door by a women who asked 'how many' and then spoke some rapid fire italian which I couldn't follow. Then we were ushered outside, to... More

Lovely restaurant with friendly waiter and generous portions of Roman food. Serves a range of traditional dishes and delicious pasta. Lovely quiet corner position too.

I was here the second time, and I enjoy the food again. But this time we have to sit outside, because they are fully booked. So if you like to enjoy food and location, than make a reservation ;) the calamari are really good.

This place is the essence of Rome. It is homey, soulful and sometimes a bit chaotic. For a very reasonable price you get the best of Roman food. I have visited several times and will return again. When in season, try the fettuccine with artichokes and the puntarelle dishes.

Thought we knew what we wanted but our waiter knew better. We snuck in just barely without reservations (make one if you're going). We had some ideas of what to order but the waiter suggested other items and we loved each one of the suggestions (including an additional small bottle of wine). I ate wayyyyy too much but it was... We were not really welcome, although we entered at opening time. The food was OK but it seemd they hardly wait that we leave the restaurant. The waiters were unfriendly, like they just do not like tourists.

Excellent roman TRATTORIA. The different types of pasta are all according the good tradition! An exciting experience that I usually share with my foreigners friend (USA specially). Excellent cantina (many types of very good Italians wines). Very good fantasy for the variety of appetisers. Fried foods are excellent! To try!

I would recommend to book before getting there. The food is good, the wine also and the waiters can be nice (as long as you don't add ANYTHING to the food, not even cheese or olive oil on the pasta :) Try the grappa morbida at the end!

Thank Joana K

Trattoria da Teo recently moved (just 30 mt from the old location"Enzo")to the very near and typical "Piazza dei Ponziani" with a nice outdoor terrace. Traditional trattoria where you can eat a genuine and typical Roman cuisine. Stockfish filets; Giudia artichokes; carbonara; amatriciana; gricia; ossobuco; tripe; pajata; Vaccinara tail, fresh fish and very special Tiramisù, Mascarpone Mousse with soft fruits and strawberries, a good local and national wines list.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
