Friends recommended this place to us so we were keen to try it out for a special dinner during our stay in Rome. We weren't disappointed. The service was efficient and friendly, the food was excellent and the wine list is very comprehensive. In fact we were handed something that looked like a 'wine bible'. We spent around €160 for... The restaurant claims to be a place for VIPs. Waiters behave rather arrogant. Nevertheless the quality is not more than average. Not worth the price!

Fine dining, old roman recepies with some contemporary ideas. The wine bible is impressive. Quite pricey, but worth it.

Awful food, awful distasteful decor. The celebrity photo wall when you arrive is simply pathetic. The staff is overly present and not personal at all, they look like they should work in a tacky nightclub. We first started with a plate of antipasti, the mozzarella was so stale, the salad dry... it felt like they fetched the goods from a bad... More

My daughter and I went to Antica Pesa because it was recommended by a friend. We went to celebrate my daughter's birthday on the actual day. I asked the manager to please have a candle put in a dessert for her at the end of the meal. She, in turn, told our waiter who at the start of the meal... More

Nice place very old world in Rome. Seems many Movie stars have been there as you see their photos on entrance . Food was creative good. Go for the Veal or Lamb. We tried pastas that were good as well. Service was just ok.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant, seamed it was frequently visited by famous people, but it was less than our expectations, burrata salad was good as well as everywhere in Italy, do not order the fish because it doesn't have any taste at all and overcooked, pasta was average, but the bill surprised us with an 18Euros charge for unsolicited bread... Not your typical Italian restaurant. This restaurant is unique in appearance with its almost cave-like atmosphere. Many of the walls were completing covering in art that enhances your dining experience. Think colors. Also, many pictures of celebrities covered the walls in the waiting area. It is fun to see all the famous people who have dined here. The staff was... More

What a superb experience. The food is wonderful, the service very attentive and efficient... This was our best meal in Rome and very close to our apartment in romantic, intimate Trastevere. Examine the wine list... It is the size of a large and heavy book!

Thank Richard D

Giving always attention to meet the changing course of the latest trends, the restaurant has the culinary agility to anchor the current fashion to the heritage of the rules and quality of the food products, maintaining the delicate equilibrium between discretion and popularity. In this way, we assure our guests to be present, without appearing. The original customs officer and the modern host, preserving the historic mission of the place, have been followed by a family known as connoisseurs of taste: the perfection of the proposed cuisine, offered in an ambiance enhanced by the beauty of the great artworks and the meticulous attention for each guest, so to guarantee an exclusive atmosphere combined with the warmth of a comforting familiarity. Our guest, no matter from which movie set arrives, or for how long hasn’t come, is always welcomed with a smile, a shake of hand, a delicious meal accompanied by an excellent wine and with the warmth of the art surrounding this fascinating angle of Rome. We know well that what the body nurtures is not foreign to the soul.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
