We ate there last weekend, around 10 of us. We all had high expectations but the amount of salt in the lamb and in the pasta were about 3x or 4x as much as required. Everyone had the same problem, even those who love salt. Very unfortunate. I wish I could rate this higher, I really wish I could. I... More

Just finished eating here and felt I needed to post straight away. Whilst the pasta dishes we had were good the serving staff were most unfriendly despite me ordering in Italian. We were there for just an hour and were eye-balled as they wanted the table for new customers. Our coffees were placed on the table out of reach of... More

The food was really tasty and was good value for a small amount of money. But the place itself was not very cozy.

This place is excellent for traditional Roman classics--heart, lung, trippa, etc. It's also a wonderful place to get Cacio e Pepe and other fresh, Roman pasta dishes. Authentic Roman cuisine only here. We were the only non-Italians in the place each time we were there. Highly recommended.

Very tasty food, well prepared. The menu was a lot of pages full of choices, making the decision rather difficult... The place was full of Italians which is definitely a sign of good quality.

Small and cosy trattoria only seating about 25 people. Well worth the trip to Testaccio. Best parmigiana in a long time, cacio e pepe and then veal and sausage. Good food and good value to.

My friend and I had dinner at Lo Scopettaro on a saturday night. We were lucky enough to find an empty table as it was fully booked! We ordered one Rigatoni alla carbonara and one Tonnarelli cacio e pepe and the food was unreal! We had still water and a bottle of red wine to drink. It all came for... More

I always have a problem when reviewing the restaurant that is so highly evaluated and I did not like. I always ask a question that maybe I do not know what the real local food should taste like. This time, we were tempted by good reviews on tripadvisor, and all 6 of us did not like the food. It was... More

Went here for our last dinner in Rome. What a way to end on a high note! The homemade fettuccine with porcini was perfectly cooked and marvelous. Also, it was a very generous portion. We followed with roasted veal in wine which was also terrific. The house wine is quite good as we're the contorni and the dolci. The cuisine... More

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
