Loved sitting outside in Mario’s area (to the right of the front door). Great service and food. Try the fried artichokes in season. Excellent pastas and meat dishes. We went back twice!

Definitely the worst Fiorentina in Rome. This goes for quality, quantity and taste. We ordered a 1.2kg steak and hardly had 300gr of meat. It was all grizzle and bone. The waiter just placed the plate with the steak in front of me, I expected...More

Found In my guidebook. Just down the road from vatican museums and frequented more by locals than by tourists. Average price and good service. The pasta is al denté like most places in Rome but tasty. Recommended if you want to avoid tourist traps.

Another restaurant, at least on the Sunday when we went for lunch, enjoyed by local Roman families. Kids, babies, grandpa and grandma no problem. The restaurant is known for the quality of its meat, no disappointment there. Ambiance was semi-formal in my view, I don’t...More

Starting with the excellent —- our traditional ravioli was amazing. Fresh, reasonable and cooked perfectly. My husband’s steak was also amazing. It was a T-bone with great flavor, tender and also cooked to perfection. Our wine from Sicily was a terrific blend and also within...More

Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is
the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in
a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is
a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and
wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every
shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and
gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but
that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets,

Prices were average, but my Saltimbocca alla Romana left a lot to be desired. And, as a single diner, I was virtually ignored by the wait staff. Not recommended.

I am sorry to respond late also. Shorts for men and women is fine. I have never seen anyone dressed up at the restaurant.
