My wife & I were not impressed by the atmosphere nor the standard of the food served. It was difficult to cut the pizza and it lacked flavour. Would not return.

We went with an Italian friends last saturday to eat the Pizza. The Menu it's contains the Roma Specialities besides the Pasta, Pizza etc..., plenty portions, the staff it's nice and helpful and in the menu card they indicate that the service is not included and would be increases with a 20%. But no news in Rome.

This lovely little restaurant has a lovely interior and a few tables outside, we were looking to eat near our hotel and this ticked all the boxes! Not only were our servers polite, friendly and extremely quick, the food was gorgeous and the beer was nice! Prices were also not too bad! Everything is very fresh and flavours were perfect!

We had lunch here, took the antipasti buffet, and a pizza. I liked it a lot, and would come back. It's clearly indicated that you pay a 20% service charge. That's a lot, but the prices are not that high, e.g. a pizza is around 9 euros. So just take that 20% into account when you order.

Pizzas are very tasty with lots of fresh vegetables on a great crust. Not too thin, not too thick - just perfect.

Visited with my partner and we both had the carbonara, €11.50 each. Coke was €3.50. Then we were charged €1.50 vat and €6 service charge. Far too expensive in my opinion. Nice place near termini and the server was very nice. Food wasn't great. Won't be returning.

I have been to La Gallina Bianca on a number of occasions on different trips to Italy and have always enjoyed the food and service. You are always welcomed on arrival and the waiters who speak English, are friendly and attentive. It can cater for large groups and is often very busy; so it is advisable to make a reservation... Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
