La Fraschetta is a little jewel in Trastevere. Traditional, cosy, fabulous staff and amazing food. After a very busy few days of sightseeing at every conceivable piazza & chiesa in Roma, we needed to be looked after and told what to eat and drink. Our...More

My partner and I were visiting Rome on our honey moon and were looking for an authentic Italian restaurant to eat. We had walked past the restaurant the night before and nearly entered but been put off by how busy it seemed. When we did...More

An absolutely wonderful restaurant in Trastevere! It looks rather modest on the outside but truly shines once you step in; customers are mostly locals (a good sign), the staff is very friendly and the interior design is comfortable and inviting. Above all else, however, this...More

This was our favourite restaurant in Rome. Many of the locals seemed to eat here. The food was great, we each had a pasta and shared a calzone! The restaurant was authentic Italian, it didn't have outside seating but the interior was very well decorated...More

I was recommended this restaurant by the hotel manageress, who eats there herself as she lives nearby. It is a little away from the touristy places so good value for money and good food. The owner is a nice, friendly man too

All staff were very friendly in a local eatery in Trastevere and we did not notice any bias against us as some have reviewed about tourist. They were all very hard working and hustling. My son started with the meat stuffed olives that he really...More

We went here for both a lunch and dinner and had a great experience for each. The house wines were fantastic as well as the meat/cheese appetizer platter. Bucatini was delicious, got this meal twice! Definitely recommend for anyone in the area.

Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering
streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and
overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable

Description
"La Fraschetta" di via San Francesco a Ripa è caratteristico, intimo e grazioso; propone un servizio cordiale e brillante, candidandosi senza difficoltà sia come ideale rifugio per una coppia in cerca di riservatezza sia per cene di lavoro e ritrovi amicali in una cornice neorustica e famigliare. La cucina, tendenzialmente vincolata alla nostra adorabile tradizione romana, spazia, con stile, dalla coda alla vaccinara agli spaghetti alla carbonara. Dolci sempre fatti in casa. Molto buona la carta dei vini; non mancano bianco e rosso della casa. Il locale è stato inaugurato nel 1976: lo staff proviene dalle esperienze di Ciceruacchio e Meo Patacca.
