When my daughter saw the photographs from our dinner last night at Romeow she said, “ GraGra (My Wife Maria Grazia) always looks so happy when she goes there”. My Wife replied, “ I am definitely happy: excellent no cruelty food, a lot of nice...cats and an enjoyable company! 😘😘 What else could I wish for?”. Again, we are so impressed and in awe by the dinning at the Romeow experience. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, comfortable, intimate and happy. The service is first class in efficiency, friendliness and knowledge. Owner Valentina is the epitome of grace, kindness and professionalism. The menu which is strategically constructed with what the best of the season has to offer and changes every three months or so (yes, we for sure like to experience each new menu) to take advantage of seasonal freshness and promote variety is fabulous. Last night I enjoyed from the Autum Menu: almond ricotta with cardo cello mushrooms etc, Gragnano spaghetti with macadamia nut cream etc, and pulled Shiitake mushrooms in rubar sauce etc. Sorry no room left last night for dessert. What a fantastic culinary experience. Naturally, other splendid options exist on the Autum Menu. Unbelievably an outstanding experience on so many levels.More

What a gem tucked away in the outskirts of Rome! The cats were adorable, playful and fun, but honestly not the star of the show… the food was fantastic! I got the 6-course tasting menu, definitely worth the price! Each dish was more delicious than...the last! Make sure you read the opening times, there’s a set lunch/dinner time plus space in between to clean and prepare for the next meal. I luckily got there right at lunchtime.More

This restaurant was amazing 😻. It was recommended to us by friends who live in Rome and as we are vegan and love cats it seemed like our perfect restaurant. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

As far as dining experience you can say Romeow is an outstanding vegetarian/vegan restaurant, but its culinary innovation and consistent execution on all fronts (interesting & varied 3 month Menu cycle, Service and unique Ambiance) has transcended any labeling or categorization other than the stated...the reality that the Romeow is a superior restaurant operating on the highest levels. The overall experience and those Precious Cats never fail to make us feel joy and happiness. Our advice is don’t put a label on this restaurant, but do experience the overall joy!!! You won’t forget it!!!!More

We arrived early in the morning to the opening , 20 Minutes from the city center. If you love cats/animals (or your kids do) - it's worth the ride to the edge of town. There's Piramide di Caio Cestio 9 minutes away, and you can...walk after the visit to the bath of Caracalla. The employees were nice, as the cats were, just playing along in the restaurant, and there were enough fairly priced tasty Vegan options to choose from.More

Not great for me...I went with a group of cat lovers, it was evening, so I think all the cats had gone to bed!!!!...didn't see one. It is a vegan restaurant, so not surprising I didn't like the food at all, I'm a carnivore, and...to be fair, I wouldn't choose to go to a vegan resaurant....I gave it a go, but found it rather tasteless and was unable to eat very much....the wine was good though...found it a bit pricey....More

We went here on the last day of our holiday in Rome. We were missing our own furry friend and my partner had read some very good reviews. We had to travel quite out of the way to get to the bistro and we went...feeling a bit unsure if it would even be open as the opening hours online are a little confusing and we wanted a mid afternoon meal as we had had a large breakfast and were heading to bed early for travelling the next day. I had not actually realised this was a vegan restaurant and I had to admit my heart sank a little when I saw this! However I was happy to learn something new: vegan food can be delicious! In fact having surprisingly not been blown away by any meal I had in Rome I can safely say this was the best meal we had the whole holiday! Beautifully presented with a perfect combination of flavours. Slightly pricey but definitely worth it. Staff were very friendly, especially given we speak little to no Italian. We chatted a lot to them and compliment the food. We walked around and stroked the very friendly cats who were all having their afternoon nap. I can understand why people might be disappointed with the amount of cats. There are 4/5?, we were informed that unfortunately Romeo had passed away. We found that we did have to go looking for them but we didn't mind and the staff had no problem with us walking about. All in all this was a great experience on our last day and pretty much made our holiday. Just one more word on the toilet lol, nicest toilet I have been to in Rome, including the one in our hotel!More

This was the first cat cafe I’ve ever visited in my life as I’ve heard a lot of bad things about some in the UK so I’ve avoided them, as I worry they’re not ethical and good for the cats. This one in Rome was...the first fully vegan cat cafe I’d ever heard of and they only had 5 cats here which is a big enough number so they aren’t all cramped and distressed! The cats seemed happy enough, most were sleeping and they also had a hide out upstairs to escape the busy cafe. The food was amazing to be honest - quite a fine dining experience. I had the Easter special set menu which was a bit pricey tbf at €60 lunch. But I was happy to pay it to help funds for the cats, and also as I said - the food was very great. If you visit - don’t chase the cats. Wait til they come to you, and never disturb them when they’re sleeping. 🧡More

I notice this café gets good reviews for its food but do people really go to cat cafés for food? I have visited quite a few in European and North American capitals and I go for the cats, not the food, and have never been...disappointed until Romeow. We decided to go on a rainy afternoon having already had lunch in the city. We just wanted coffees but were frostily informed that we would have to eat something with our coffees. So we ordered muffins, the smallest item on the menu, as we were genuinely not hungry. The muffins cost over €4 each, so for two muffins and two cappucinos we paid €18 in total, a lot of money for a waste of food [we didn't eat the muffins] and I'd have been happier with a cover charge or a donation for the cats. We saw few cats, maximum three, but I noticed plenty of waiters. Unlike other cat cafés which are smaller, friendlier, staffed by just one or two, more cats and you feel welcome to just have a drink. We found it an unfriendly place and wonder if it is just another impersonal restaurant rather than a cat sanctuary. It's also very much off the beaten track, in a not so nice neighbourhood as pointed out by another reviewer, and a good 10 minute walk from the nearest metro station. I wouldn't recommend this café.More

Dined in for their Easter special menu and it was such an amazing experience. Their food is the best vegan food I had in my life. 10 out of 10. Creative, delicious and sustainable at the same time. Their menu included 2 appetizers, a pasta...dish, a main course and a dessert. Water and coffee included in the price as well. For those who are missing Kombucha while in Italy, don't worry, they have you covered! Service was impeccable even if they were very busy, considering it was Easter Day. All the courses were served at a perfect pace. The food experience was not rushed at all. I really appreciated that. This restaurant has a beautiful decor and their seating arrangement is spread out on two levels. You can really tell they put a lot of effort in this place and they love what they do. And what can I say about their furry guests?! They will make your experience even better and I loved how unbothered they actually were by our presence. That shows how wonderful their life is. I can't wait to go back not only for their food (I want to try everything on their menu) but also for the experience!More

Some of the best food I've tasted, vegan or not. Ambitious dishes very well executed. The vegan 'cheese' amuse-bouche was amazing, wouldn't have guessed it was vegan. Snoozing cats just made it extra special but if you're not a cat fan they leave you alone....We did book even though it was a weekday and it was full so I would recommend booking in advance. Incredible vegan food, and adorable cats. Went twice in a row as I loved the place so much, I wish I found out about it earlier as I would’ve gone 6 days in a row haha. Everything on the menu is perfectly crafted, and so...much variation. The staff were always so lovely to us too. The cats make the place absolutely perfect, and just round off the experience. 5 stars, I can’t wait to come back again. MAKE SURE YOU BOOK AHEAD OF TIME!More

This restaurant needs to be booked in advance but is well worth it. It is one of the most ambitious vegan restaurants that I've visited but the staff was friendly and helpful. The prices may seem a bit high but once you see the creations...from the kitchen, you will realize that it is a good bargain. I particularly enjoyed their cashew filled ravioli with a creamy sauce and jerusalem artichoke crisps. Their deserts (Tiramisu and "raw cake" tried) were also delicious and rich. Good service and a bonus for cat lovers in that several cats roam the dining room.More
