Our family of 4 (17 yr old son and 10 yr old daughter) ate at Romolo for Christmas Dinner and had so much fun. Our waiter didn't speak any English and we didn't speak a whole lot of Italian but that just made our experience better. We were the first customers for dinner, so other waiters helped out and there... More

Our waiter provided excellent service and recommended a great wine to go with our meal. The food was flavorful and well cooked. We had prawns with pischacio cream and amatriciana both of which were good pasta dishes. The space is cozy and warm. There were not many people in the restaurant so service was prompt. This also made it a... More

I went here once when we were able to sit out in the garden and it was lovely, it is very nice out there. The second time however, the garden was closed. The inside is very unattractive. The first time I got the Cacio e pepe which was tasty; the second time I got the lamb chops. They were very... More

We had a great meal here outside on the terrace. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our limoncello after the meal. It seems everyone is given it after dinner if they want it.

Beautiful location to spend with family and friends dining in a courtyard away from the traffic and noise of Rome - located on the edge of Trastevere at the base of via Garibaldi - everything was tasty!

Seven of us spent last evening in the beautiful, interior garden of Romolo. The atmosphere was delightful, the food was delicious and the wine was perfect. The servers were attentive and our after dinner limoncello shots were on the house.

My partner and I just had dinner at Romolo and we had such a wonderful experience that I wanted to write a review straight away while it was fresh in my mind. The food was lovely. I had simple pasta, pecorino and black pepper and my partner had spaghetti puttanesca. Both were perfectly cooked and seasoned and came out at... More

This ristorante was well rated on this website but I ended up being quite disappointed. My dish was overcooked and not tasty at all. The decor was pleasant and the staff was very polite. It was of last night in Rome and in Italy, we decided to spend it in Trestevere. I would have wished for something more memorable.

One of my favorites restaurants in Rome and I mean restaurant and not pizzeria. The service is very polite and respectful but not stiff. Excellent pasta, and grill. The interior has been refurbish respecting the rustic origine of the building. I recommend it for dinner in the terrace "giardino" if the weather is favorable. Perfect for couples but also small... Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
