Had dinner last night at this restaurant in Rome. It is truly a first class operation. Everything was immaculate, the food was delicious, the waiters were formally dressed in white jackets and ties and the food incredible. It is a little on the pricey side,...More

If you like Roman traditional cooking this is a restaurant to try. It was much better 10 or 15 years ago but carciofi alla giudia and pasta cacio and pepe and fettuccine alla carbonara are still properly done. A bit too touristic now for my...More

Considering the cost, we expected more from Piperno. The food was good, but not something we'd want twice. I believe the restaurant has an outdoor terrace, but as it was pouring rain when we got there, we did not see it. The service was adequate,...More

A beautiful restaurant with a classic patina, artfully decorated. This is not a tourist spot, but a neighborhood favorite of local. Classical professional service by a warm and friendly team. The food is all outstanding, stop and take a look at the display at the...More

We visited Piperno tonight at the suggestion of an article we read. It is off the beaten path so you need to know where you are going! The staff was very attentive and the room is rather small. We started with the fried squash blossoms...More

Tucked away in the Jewish Ghetto, Piperno is a wonderful restaurant that is a must visit for any foodie. The staff are all wonderful, as evidenced by the fact our reservation was honored despite the fact we were 30 minutes late. Our waiter was the...More

While our hotel had told us they had made a reservation, this appeared to have been lost, and we were very disappointed to be told upon arrival that they were fully booked and we did not have a res. However, after we made sad faces,...More

I reserved for lunch here on a Sunday afternoon, which turned out to be a great time to go! All of the tables were reserved with little cards, but it seemed to be completely filled with Italian families out for their Sunday meal. The restaurant...More

We had the artichoke and other fried stuff as starters, then saltimbocca and lamb. It was fine but too expensive for that. Service also not really friendly and decor very oldschool. Quite disappointing experience; wouldnt recommend.

I have been to Piperno multiple times over the years and have recommended it to many people BUT I will never do so again. From the obnoxious greeting from the hostess, who claimed to not have our reservation , though the restaurant was half full,...More

Rome restaurants usually close one day a week, and that day is at their discretion. Piperno is closed on Mondays.

Hi Barb S. As other Trip Advisors have suggested, its a fair distance/walk from St. Peters and i would personally take a taxi. Re the language...we had absolutely no trouble in conversing with our waiter.
