Lovely place for late lunch. Drinks were generous in size, appetizers (chips and peanuts) gratis with the drinks. Service was excellent, attentive and efficient. Mes amis, the hamburger with cheese is great - enough to share. And they serve some sweet biscotti at the end of the meal. Delightful - and we can check the box!

Lovely bar, great service and nice drinks. It's expensive but other than that it has a nice buzzing atmosphere with a vintage style.

This is a very good place to rest your feet before visiting Villa Borgese. It's nothing like standard Roman restaurants but has a cool decor. Very clean restrooms. Food high priced but quality is fairly equal.

This wonderful restaurant was just up from our hotel and we dined here on our first night and last night whilst staying in Rome, our only mistake was not dining here on the other two nights ! What an amazing place, even though it was February it was nice enough to sit outside, so relaxing and we did this on... More

This bar on the via Veneto exudes old world charm, with a dark paneled interior, comfortable seating and attentive service. When we were there, we were entertained by a piano player/singer which was not overpowering (we were seated next to the piano) and very pleasant.

Had Valentines lunch here prior to flying back to UK later in day. Had to wait for service- not too forthcoming. Ordered lobster pasta- very average- had much better food for fraction of the price- Think bar is trading on its past reputation. Would we visit again- no.

We had a "simple" lunch with a bottle of excellent vine. We enjoyed the ir way of cooking and the atmosphere.

Had the most memorable night of my life here, 10 years ago! Right place at the Right time. It was the patronage in the bar that made it most memorable 😊

Located just a few minutes away from Westin hotel. We got lucky and had outside seating. Surprised at the prices at the quality of the food which was quite average. Wouldn't recommend- many better places if you want to spend this much money.

Description
In order to write the story of this cafe we should get to meet every person who has gone to it, or most of them. Certainly each one of them would have a bit of story kept in the casket of their memories. Memories of unforgettable moment, but above all of a bit of history which has helped our Country to be born again. It was the Sixties and our bar proudly represented the meeting place of the " By nigth " Rome, of the " Dolce vita " (Sweet life), the place where riotous loves were born, where never revealed agreements were signed, were everything was familiar ... This was Harry's Bar. In the hearts of the ones who patronenized it, it never died, despite the hard times. Harry's Bar Rome was born in 1959, took its name only in 1962 but the cafe existed since 1918. It was the Golden Gate Confectioner's, quoted in many books. At the end of the Twenties it became part of the De Gasperis' family until 1958, the very year it cake to be American Bar Restaurant. Today the cafe shines in its Boisseirie, and in its plasters, more then 35 years old, of late renovated, the same feel you got in those years. He who doesn't know Harry's Bar Rome, has now good reason to go and see it. Legendary Harry's Bar is the unique place that evokes tbc "Dolce Vita' as if it were a clip from the film, creating a vivid flashback to the golden era of the Via Veneto, when Frank Sinatra sang at the piano and all the stars made their appearance in this bar/restaurant full of glamour and style. As in the roaring sixties, you can still sip an aperitif, enjoy the live piano bar every evening and dive into tbc magic of the Via Veneto from the exclusive and fascinating Harry's Bar. The refined cuisine recalls the freshness of Mediterranean flavours based on prime ingredients. Tradition and fantasy inspire the elegant dishes of the menu, accompanied by the most prestigious labels and a high class service.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
