La Cantinola is a gem. They specialize in seafood (always fresh) and make excellent noodles. The service is impeccable and friendly, the setting pleasant, the price very reasonable. It is well worth a detour, for lunch or dinner. Try their spaghetti alle vongole, it's simply delicious.

This friendly restaurant was recommended by family friends that dined here recently. It was located just a short walk from the Westin where we were staying, so it was super convenient for us!!! We had a very pleasant experience two nights during our stay in Rome. The owners are very hospitable, attentive and a pure delight. The food was delicious... More

Reccomended by some locals as a place to eat. Staff very friendly and sweet. Starters amazing! Mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes, aubergine, zucchini, A jug of house wine about 5 euro so pretty good! Main courses were disappointing, seafood pasta - not much seafood in it, bolognaise ok but not amazing! Left with 2 roses from staff which was sweet!

We found this restaurant on Google with good ratings and wasn't far from our hotel. The second we walked in the door we were greeted with friendly smiles and impeccable service. The food was the best we had on our trip to Rome and definitely the best service. This is a 5 star restaurant that went above and beyond for... More

We really enjoyed our dinner at La Cantinola. The service was great. We enjoyed the olives and starters. The ravioli was fresh and delicious. The steak filet was awesome. We enjoyed the tiramisu and ice cream bites. The rose was a beautiful gesture. We would recommend this restaurant for travelers in Rome.

First night in Rome, looking for something interesting, looking for that originality! And this had it! Only a few people seated,(07:45) took a chance. Warm welcome from the owner, breadsticks and olives on the table. Lovely carafe of red wine, good start. Our waiter was superb (reminded me of Renie, but Italian). Halfway through our meal the place started to fill... More

Lovely little place. Family restaurant. Good food, but had better in Rome. House wine is 7-8 EUR for the whole bottle. That's not bad. ;-)

Two had luke warm food which had to go back to the kitchen to... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
