Excellent meal, friendly staff and good value. Lovely house wine also. Was quiet at first but then got very busy with a mixed crowd of locals and visitors. Definitely recommend.

This is a short cab ride from the heart of Trastevere, but worth the trip when in Rome. Food was fantastic, service was great and the ambiance was perfect. We enjoyed everything we ordered.
I booked 6 months ahead for my birthday on 17th Nov - a Friday. The place was full so lucky I booked. The food, as nearly everyone says, is just beautful, we had the pork one night and returned a few days later for our...last meal in Rome and had the rabbit- both beautifully cooked and we could have eaten 2 serves of the baked potatoes !! Linen tablecloths and serviettes, quality cutlery and glassware and only 10 euros for 1/2 litre of excellent house red. The service from the 2 young waitresses was exceptional and very friendly- and they bought out a small cake and candle as they remembered I had booked for my birthday 6 months earlier !!! A lovely touch and I really appreciated it - thankyou. It's away from the tourist areas of Trastevere near the station so a six tram stop ride from the river but so worth it. We would love to go back one day - our best food experience in Rome. THANKYOUMore
We tried to book a dinner but they were already full. That tells you a lot. We went for lunch instead and while getting there took some time, it was all worth it. The bruschetta was good. Toasted just right with the freshest tomatoes and...nice olive oil. The lasagna was light and flavorful. The roasted suckling pig was just heavenly. We topped it off with cheesecake with fruits and mousse with nuts with hot tea and coffee. Reasonable prices just seals the deal. 5 (million) stars! Just one complaint if I may: it took some time to serve our orders. Of course, the kitchen was busy but we noted that a table that came in after us got served a suckling pig ahead of us. Anyway, we walk away from here very happy indeed.More
This restaurant was recommended by another fine restaurant in Rome. We were looking for a place offering more than just pizza and pasta. First impressions, this place looks like any other trattoria from the outside, but get inside and it’s very different. It’s a great...looking place with stone walls. Everything about this restaurant is great: very good food (best rabbit ever; excellent oxtail), good wine and excellent service. Highly recommended. The place is not big so it’s worth making a reservation - they were turning people without reservations away the night we went.More
Great all around (service, ambience, food). They open at 1 PM for lunch. Cute little restaurant a couple of blocks from the train station. Love the italian stonework inside. Service was excellent and the food? It was simple yet phenomenal. The Pasta ala Gricia has...now become our favorite, taking the place of the Carbonara. Really, the only difference was Gricia is egg-less but the rest of the ingredients are the same. The Roasted Suckling Pig was to die for! So juicy and tender, even the skin was soft/tender (doesn’t hurt my gums haha) which was a nice surprise. The filipino version (Lechon) is not this juicy and tender. My husband isn’t really a big fan of pork. However, this was lick-the-plate good and we would not mind going back here again before leaving Roma. We also had a side of roasted veggies (grilled zucchini) that was perfect to balance out the fatty pork. 2 thumbs way up!!! Hope to see you again soon.More
Really great restaurant where you felt so welcome - almost a homely feel to it . The team really looked after us and the menu and food really very good !
Its a fantastic family fun restaurant and my husband and I have been going there for over 20 years and have seen it evolve. We count it as our favorite restaurant in Rome.
We came here at the recommendation of several friends – off the beaten path and what a meal! Their menu and special change frequently. We were a group of 4 and we had the pasta alla amatriciana, pasta alla gricia, suckling pig rib (maiolino) and...grilled cod (bacalao) + a chocolate tart and a rum cake with ice cream. Every single bite of that meal was so good. Service was attentive without being pushy. Getting the reservation was a little tough – worth every bit of effort. They were also super accommodating when I had to make a same day change. Super reasonably priced, dinner for 4 with 2 desserts and 1.5L of win was ~€100.More
I had wanted to have dinner in Trastavere for our first night in Rome. After some researching, there was a consensus that La Tavernaccia da Bruno was one of the best restaurants. The front desk of our hotel was able to call and make a...reservation for us a few weeks in advance. The restaurant is located on a street corner in Trastavere, with a charming stone interior. We were seated quickly and our server explained the menu to us. My sister and I wanted the classic Roman pasta dishes so we got the rigatoni all'Amatriciana and the perciatelli a la carbonara. Both were delicious. My partner got a pizza with mozzarella and zucchini flowers that turned out more delicious than we had expected. My sister and I split the chicken cacciatore as the restaurant did not have the veal dish that was on the menu. It was flavorful but in hindsight, I would have shared a pizza and then had a pasta for a meal here. There's an extensive wine list available, but the house wine is a bargain.More
Very nice place. Bread was warm and tasty, Melanzane di parmigiane was excellent and the pistachio tart was really good. Big fatty pork instead was not a favourite portion for a lady in our group. Some lighter would have been more tasty and it was...a big dissappointment for her, that melanzane di parmigiane was not glutein free, because we other told all the time, how delicious it was. Maybe next time it can be prepared also without glutein. Anyway we really enjoyed the eveningMore
Amazing service, good recommendations. Beautiful homely food and stunning local wine. Would highly recommend. Make sure you book very busy!
Went here for our last meal in Rome and it did not disappoint. Started with the Burrata and Artichoke dish, amazing thin focaccia right out of the oven, followed by the amitriciana and lasagna, then the suckling pig and the veal brisket—-all I can say...is wow!! I was blown away especially by the meat dishes. Great house wine too! Service was great and everyone was very nice. Will come back next time I’m in Rome.More
Best dinner we had in Rome and we like to dine out! This isn’t fine dining it’s better though..real Roman food..pizzas so fresh . The margarita tasted like essence of basil and mozzarella. The diavolo pizza was divine. The suckling pig and pastas were also...fantastic . Service was friendly and nice breeze through the restaurant. Delightful and family friendly.More
Excellent evening with high quality food. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Friendly service and delicious food. I enjoyed the anti pasti to start. Delicious salami selection. The linguini with claims had a nice blend of spice and flavor. The pig had perfectly crispy skin...and was very moist.More
