Seems from the reviews that this place is hit and miss but we had a fantastic meal. The vegetarian carbonara was perfect, my partner's risotto idem, wine was equisite. Cosy atmosphere, mixed clientele, tourists and locals. I feel a bit mean giving 4 stars but...More

OK, it's Roma so a bit touristy - but we were surrounded by Italian groups. Mixed antipasta was very good and the trippa alla romana something else. Service very good as was the Ceranese wine.

Went there on a recommendation of a friend from Rome. Greatly disappointed by the level of service. Waiters inattentive and simply ignoring customer requests and replacing with what they want. Food was mediocre. Will not be going back. Management should consider to do a re...More

Booked via The Fork and got 20% discount. Good start! Well met and served, good food. First 2 wines chosen not available but #3 offered was fine and same price. No pressure, well cooked, well served. Interesting decor of artisan tools.

We had a pleasant meal, not exceptional but good. Service was okay. Wine is only by the bottle, it was nice but far more than we required. We spent more than on other nights when we have had equal if not better meals.

A typical Italian trattoria with good food at a reasonable price. We were there because the Perillo guided tour we were on chose to eat dinner there. We were served a sampling of their menu as well something we choose.

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded
postcard, a little worn around the edges but still
charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering

overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible
mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of
entertainment - a rotating set of street performers
entertains almost every night, and unforgettable

Description
"La Gattabuia" is located in old Trastevere, in a splendid tavern 1400 (o 400?) year old. The three rooms match a fine old-fashioned furnishing with terracotta brick walls, arches and vaults.

Among the typical restaurants of the area, "La Gattabuia" is one of the most famous. It is easy to reach, in between the alleys and piazzas. The restaurant was born from the walls of an ancient prison of the Papalin era.

We are glad to welcome you in a pleasant environment filled with natural pigments. Our service has nothing to envy to luxurious restaurants.

The tables are disposed so to have a certain distance from each other. We have an eterogeneous menu, easy to adapt to everybody. A night at "La Gattabuia" will definitely leave you impressed: you will soon be asking for more!

You will find several different dishes, ranging from tasty appetizers, fried and grilled vegetables, typical roman dishes (Carbonara, Gricia, Amatriciana, Cheese and Pepper) among which you will find our "Chef Offers", like Gnocchi with Colonnata Lard and Courgettes pate, Strozzapreti with Boletus and Truffles or Rigatoni with Tail Tomato Sauce.

Delight yourself with our grilled meat (from Argentina and Denmark), our roasts, fillets and steaks. Try our roman tripe, stewed beef tail, Lamb Offal. Our vast selection of Pizzas, baked in our wood stove, will make your mouth water.

Our cellar is filled with an accurate assortment of red wines ordered by region. We have at our disposal more than 80 different wines from Lazio
