I am appalled at some of the previous negative reviews!! My husband and I recently had dinner here and found absolutely NOTHING wrong. I don't mean to brag, but, we have been to Rome many times and consider ourselves knowledgeable about Roman cooking. As you enter, there is a small room with 3 tables and a larger room in the... I have read some previous reviews, I and I can understand both the praise and scorn. TL;DR: I ordered meat rolls with vegetables, bread and wine. The portion seemed small, but in the end, against my expectations, I felt full. The vegetables (spinach and zuccina fried in oil?) were cold, but the tastes were very well balanced and the dish... So, Friday night, no reservation but 9.00pm so... standing in the doorway for a full five minutes unacknowledged by the owner is uncomfortable... being shown to a dirty table with a serviette draped over the dirty bit, rather than a clean cloth, is not a great start. Other people came in, were shown straight to a table, given water, menus... More

Have been here many times. It seems to be a favourite of people who live and work nearby. Delicious simple italian cooking. Dark plain inside but warm and generous staff. Not fancy and not really a touristy location.

I was agree the portion are small, but the flavour was fantastic. It is a refine foods place. We come here to savour the authentic Italian... More

Actually a cab driver told us about this place but the owner of the B&B we stayed in wasn't enthusiastic. Certainly it was a good tip, great traditional Roman meal. Try their meatballs, amazing!

This very family restaurant hides behind frosted glass and the door is locked - you have to buzz to get in. Starched white linen and a typed menu that looks like it was done on a manual typewriter. Limited choice, everyone is Italian. The portions were small but the food delicious. Vitello alla genovese EUR 12.50 very good.

There must be many reviews of Settimio, it is a Roman institution. The place is small, everybody seems to be an invitee of the family or one of us lucky friends of friends who heard about it and were graciously invited to join. Cucina casalinga mainly, but first rate. If you are looking for a Michelin three star, with multiple... More

It has a small menu that looks like it changes often. Like going over to nonnas place. We enjoyed it. Unpretentious. Pretty good value. Good for a quick meal..
