Every time we come to Rome, we come at least once to this good place. The food is nice and the owner and waiters are very friendly. You get the time to eat and talk. Never once got the impression we had to leave once our meal was consumed like in so many restaurants close to piaza navona. We recommend... More

The grigliata mista pesce, mixed seafood, is served at a price pr 100 g and cost the total of 48 euro . The grilled squid was burnt and overcooked, the prawns were so so, the salmon overcooked, but the seabass was fine. In total completely overprized and overcooked.........a total disapointment.

All the food was delicious and also one of the few places you can get osso buco at a reasonable price. The patio was cozy and the staff was friendly

After a long day of walking around the Eternal City, we were looking for a place to have a nice meal and a drink. When walking past La Scaletta, we stopped to gaze at their menu. The immediate hard sell should have been a clue, but it is honestly not atypical for Italy. The owner was very attentive, but we... More

The restaurant was far from full even on a saturday evening - which probably should have been a hint for us. Still the waiter took ages to take our order, once ordered the food was readonably fast to arrive though. Sadly both the Amatriciana and the minestrone lacked seasoning. We asked for the check and waited for more than ten... More

With so much on offer in the square, we found this quaint little place away from all the hustle, and we were so glad that we did. The food and service was superb, the friendly family that run the business, were attentive, happy and made us all feel very welcome.

Nice seating outside, multilingual service. Not many locals or Italians as we found out (too late). Wanted some Tagliata and thus decided to stop here. However, we have been spoiled by a much better Tagliata before elsewhere in Italy. This one was too much done und was cooked already cut in stripes. Better is grilling it in one piece and... More

Walking away from Piazza Navona to hopefully score a higher quality, better priced restaurant to enjoy with friends, La Scaletta was completely empty at this early dinner hour which may be a bad sign, but it just felt like the place we were looking for. It was an absolute score...from the appetizer tray to the mains...just take what Chef Frankie... More
