...quiet little gem with wonderful service and excellent plates! Priced perfectly and expect high value for what you get. I recommend Octopus (salad) and their house specialty Spaghetti & Clams spicey.....you will be happy you did!

I made three visits to this restaurant and ordered different entrees each time. All were good. The parma ham and mellon starter was great. In comparison to other restaurants in this neighborhood, it was the best I visited.

Expensive restaurant in front of the Ateneo Garden Palace hotel. Every dish was below average, even the main course (bistecca), which was enthusiastically recommended by the waiter, was far from optimum. At the end of the dinner, 38€ with only a glass of red wine, nobody from the staff asked me for my experience, maybe they already knew.

Sunday eve, we went there because we were in San Lorenzo for a brief work stay. Besides us, a family of 8 inside, and perhaps 3 or 4 tables outside that were occupied. The friendly waiter asked if we were interested in fish, they had a - and I didn't get the name - freshly brought in. It was described... More

I was staying in Rome for only 2 days and was looking for a non-commercial, or say non-touristic spot, where I could enjoy my Italian experience to the fullest. I expressed this to the landlord who later recommended me this place, and I truly did NOT regret following his advice. I immediately fell in love with this restaurant once sat... More

I visited here as I was staying in the Ateneo Garden Palace opposite and wanted somewhere to get a quick evening meal. I was more than pleased with my choice. I had two very typical Roman dishes both of which were just as one would want, without frills or pretention. Service was quick and attentive and the price was reasonable.... More

This is not a fashionable restaurant in Rome, but I was so many times disappointed by old glories that I was pleased to find a place respecting the tradition of Roman cuisine. The environment is nice but not fancy. The personnel is very hospitable, in particular the gentleman in charge who is not from Rome but from Egypt. Nevertheless, he... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo may look all street with its pulse in urban art and street food, but don’t be fooled. This gritty student neighbourhood immediately east of Termini train station is on the avant-garde rise. Art galleries, curated mural projects by artists like Rome’s favorite Alice, charming cafes, and boutique restaurants are slowly infiltrating the streets of San Lorenzo with counter-culture chic. Don’t worry, San Lorenzo still retains its local vibe with weekend festivals and demonstrations, and is always a hub for Rome’s university student scene.
